Why I love City Living ~ flower shops
One of the things I have missed about not being at the country home is the gardens. But let's face it with the cold temps ... the flowers there have been gone for some time. In the city however, you can enjoy nature's beautiful colours and creations all year long! Courtesy of the fabulous flower shops. One of my favourite areas for flower shops is on Avenue Road - when I lived in the city full time I looked forward to my weekly (or bi-weekly depending on the flowers I had chosen) visits.
On a recent visit I came away with 4 bouquets!! - for just under $25.00
Look at these lovelies!!!!
I was able to create 8 beautiful arrangements to add colour throughout my home in the city. Beautiful!!! What do you think?
These autumn coloured sunflowers were breath taking !Unfortunately they only lasted about a week :(
When I purchase lilies I try to make sure not all blooms are open ...
The blooms opened up one by one over a 2 week period.
this is almost 2 weeks after purchase!!!
Can't wait to go back and replenish!!
Do you keep fresh cut flowers in your home year round?

Simple Pleasures - Fresh Cut Flowers

Fresh cut flowers not only add beauty to your home they are great for helping uplift your mood.
You don't need to spend a lot of money. These two bouquets from the local market were just 2/$10 ...
Add an extra touch by using an unexpected container ... this metal water pitcher with it's leather handle not only makes the purple colour of the daisies pop, but adds interest.
the lilies and yellow blooms look so elegant in this glass vase ...
We all experience morning blahs from time to time .... start your day with a positive attitude by keeping a fresh cut bouquet on your vanity. You can't help but smile as you look at them, instantly changing your mood to a friendlier, happier and more positive out look throughout your day.
People with fresh cut flowers in their home are most likely to feel less worried and feel fewer periods of anxiety or depression.
Fresh cut flowers are definitely a simple pleasure with lots of luxurious impact.
Are fresh flowers a regular staple in your home?
Wishing you a luxurious balanced weekend,

Afternoon Tea and Fresh Cut-Flowers

Stopping for a cup of tea in one's day is a brilliant way to calm the mind...
Today I'm enjoying my tea from a ceramic crafted teacup ... ah Paris, yes it is always a good time for the city of lights.
Today I'm also enjoying ... a slice of apple pie from the local bakery in town.
And since the gardens are not quite in bloom due to the long winter and extra cold spring... a bouquet of fresh cut flowers will add a little brightness to me tea corner.
Looks like I'm not the only one who enjoys my tea corner. Dolce and Gabbana are enjoying watching the squirrels, chipmunks, ducks, birds and the concessional bunny and turkey.
Where do you sit and enjoy your afternoon cup of tea?
Love and Light,
