9 Events in Toronto To Make The Most of Autumn

The temperature may cooling, but the fun is just beginning to heat up in the city. For me autumn is my favourite season, the weather is no longer scorching hot and its not too cold - it's perfect to be out and about discovering all the Toronto has to offer. Below are 9 events that you should seriously not miss.

1) ROMWalks: September 25 - November 16

Walking tours of Toronto. ROMwalks encompass the diverse aspects of Toronto's vibrant neighbourhoods including history, architecture, arts of all varieties, education and more. Most tours are free. more info

2) Nuite Blanche: October 1 - free event


Since 2006, for one night from set to sunrise Toronto is transformed into an artistic playground for a series of exhilarating contemporary art experiences in unexpected public spaces. more info

3) World Press Photo 16: October 4-25th - free event

A traveling exhibition of prize-winning entries assembled by World Press Photo, organizers of the world’s largest and most prestigious annual press photography contest. more info 

4) International Festival of Authors: October 20 -30

For the literary enthusiast this is a must attend event of 11 days of readings, interviews, artist talks, round table discussions, public book signings and special events. more info

5) Art Toronto: October 28 - 31

Canada’s international contemporary and modern art fair.  more info 

6) The Royal Winter Fair: November 4-13


The Royal Winter Fair is the largest combined indoor agricultural fair and international equestrian competition in the world. It is where Canadian and international breeders, growers and exhibitors are declared champions and where hundreds of thousands of attendees come to learn, compete, shop and have a great time with friends and family. more info

7) Toronto Christmas Market - in the Distillery District: November 18 - December 22


This is one of my favourite events and I look forward to it every year. I have written about it here. The market is ranked one of the top 10 holiday markets in the world. Think of the magic of a European market right here in Toronto. more info

8) One of a Kind Show & Sale: November 24 - December 4

Find a unique gift for the hard to shop person on your Christmas list. There is nothing quite as special as a handcrafted gift. Along with an array of artisans to shop the show hosts DIY workshops. more info

9) Holiday Fair at Nathan Philips Square: December 8 - 22

This is a new market hosted by Epilepsy Toronto while there is little information to be found, the facebook page for the event describes it as follows: From December 8th to December 23rd Nathan Phillips Square in the heart of the City of Toronto will be transformed into a magical holiday experience! Join for the charm and elegance of a traditional European Christmas market with the excitement and allure of a thriving winter carnival. In support of Epilepsy Toronto. more info
