Heels and a Cup of Tea

Hi everyone, welcome to tea this week. Not only do I have a lovely teacup to share with you , I have a fabulous creative and most talented artist to share with you.

A while back I entered a fabulous giveaway hosted by dear friend Susan founder/writer of Ava Grace's Closet. If you have not yet discovered Susan's corner of BlogLand - let me tell you you are missing some cuteness - Miss Ava is such a darling; great fashion and some fabulous giveaways! Thank you Susan for inspiring with your posts and  sharing with hosting wonderful giveaways.

The giveaway a book ... not just any book a shoe book!! Look how beautiful it was wrapped...

Wonderfully written and illustrated by Clare Grove.  I can't wait to share this book with our Goddaughter and my with my little niece when we visit together next.

As you can see Clare definitely loves shoes ... and she is a mummy of three so the book title
Mummy Loves Shoes is brilliant!

Well if the book was not surprise enough to have been the winner ... Susan shared these beautiful cards with me. These are part of the Mummy Loves stationary range THAT IS YET TO BE RELEASED!!

Now for teacup I'm sharing today .... it's she lovely! A beautiful green canvas with golden floral decor.

and the handle ... how gorgeous? in gold with a swirl thumb rest. This teacup is so delicate the light shining in from window captures the gold of the flowers reflection. Loving the single gold stripe around the teacup and the golden pedestal. Do you know who this lovely is by?

Here it is ... stamped on the bottom of the teacup... even the teacup's pedestal looks like a floral bloom.
Dolce and Gabbana sat patiently and quietly during our tea today ...

For all my fashionista readers you can follow Clare on Face Book and get a glimpse into how she brings her books to life ... on a recent FB post she shared an illustration process for her upcoming book Mummy Loves Bags!

Thank you for joining me for tea today!

With Love and Gratitude,

Afternoon Tea and Fresh Cut-Flowers

Stopping for a cup of tea in one's day is a brilliant way to calm the mind...

Today I'm enjoying my tea from a ceramic crafted teacup ... ah Paris, yes it is always a good time for the city of lights.

Today I'm also enjoying ... a slice of apple pie from the local bakery in town.

And since the gardens are not quite in bloom due to the long winter and extra cold spring... a bouquet of fresh cut flowers will add a little brightness to me tea corner.

Looks like I'm not the only one who enjoys my tea corner. Dolce and Gabbana are enjoying watching the squirrels, chipmunks, ducks, birds and the concessional bunny and turkey.

Where do you sit and enjoy your afternoon cup of tea?

Love and Light,

Easter Morning Tea and a Little Bling for Spring

Good Morning and welcome to over a cup of tea ...

I recently treated myself to a little bling from Luxuria ...

and when the package arrived it contained a little extra surprise. What could this be?

Voila!  .... a tea care package of Royal tea ... Twinings calming camomile & spiced apple ; restoring echinacea  and raspberry.

You haven't heard of Luxuria? Well darlings let me introduce you over tea....

Easter and spring is a wonderful reminder of the power and blessings of new beginnings - so the restoring echinacea and raspberry tea.
The sun is really making an effort to peek through today and my little cup from Spice of Life is perfect for today's tea.

To accompany our tea this morning some scrumptious Easter themed mini-donuts ...

Mr. Rabbit is happy to share ... which treat will you choose (the eggs are chocolate)..Yum!!

Now let me introduce you to Vanessa of the blog Luxuria, who is the founder of Luxuria Jewellery Boutique. Each designer at the heart of Luxuria draws their inspiration from many sources throughout the Cote D'Azur, Ibiza, Amalfi Coast and Capri. Creating beautiful pieces which are pleasing to the eye and are effortlessly chic. Think, gemstones of sumptuous colours and texture, high quality gold and silver, the sparkle of Swarovski crystals and the elegance of freshwater pearls.

I know you are curious to see what was inside my Luxuria bag ....

These beauties ....

I had been eyeing these beautiful earrings for some time and almost waited to long to make them mine. Unlike mass produced pieces ... all pieces in the Luxuria collection are hand crafted and available in limited quantities. I'm so pleased to have not waited a second longer to order these.

If you haven't been over to the Luxuria Jewellery Boutique click here, to see the current fabulous collection. Remember each piece is handcrafted and therefore quantities are limited - so if you see a piece that calls to you don't hesitate to make it yours.

Thank you Vanessa for the soothing tea and I can't wait to wear my new beauties!!!

Happy Easter!!!

Currelly Society Centennial Tea - April 3, 2014 For the Royal Ontario Museum

A few weeks ago I had the distinct honour of being invited to attend the Currelly Society Centennial Tea for the Royal Ontario Museum.
The official opening of the Royal Ontario Museum took place at three o'clock,
Thursday, March 19th, 1914.

What to wear....
I choose my Micheal Korrs LBD, with Dolce and Gabbana heels.... and a hat by Daniele Meucci. Our little furbabies sure did wish they could come.

 candid photos ...

More candid photos....

(L) Janet Carding-Director & CEO, ROM (R) Jean Read - Chair, Currelly Society - reminded us of the importance of preserving our history and present for future generations. We were also given a little preview of the upcoming ROM exhibition Around 1914: Design in a New Age by Robert Little, Mona Campbell Chair of European Decorative Arts.

Attendees having a fabulous time...

To accompany our tea ... some bubbly to start ...
Our taste buds were tantalized with savory cress rolls, asparagus rolls, cucumber and cream cheese, salmon, cucumber and dill, roast beef with horseradish and ribbon sandwiches with ham and egg.

And of course our sweet tooth was more than satisfied with eccles cake, French lemon tarts, berry custard tarts, macarons (pistachio and cassis), lemon and fennel madeleines and petite chocolate eclairs. these photos say it all... SCRUMPTIOUS!!!

Classic and raisin scones were served with Devonshire cream and strawberry preserves.
 ...seriously divine...

It was amazing to see all the ladies and their fashionable hats ... at the end of the event a group photo of all ladies (and gentleman) wearing a hat was taken to mark the moment.

The Currelly Society is named in honour of the first director of the Royal Ontario Museum of Archaeology and his wife, and recognizes individuals who have promised future gifts. In celebration of the ROM's Centennial, the Currelly Society 100X100 Campaign was initiated in 2008 to welcome 100 new members by the close of the ROM Centennial.  As of March 2014 the Currelly Society is just over half way to reaching the goal of  the 100X100 Campaign.

Mr. G and I have both committed to leaving a lasting legacy. And I encourage you to consider the ROM in your estate planning. By supporting the ROM, you help enrich lives and inspire future generations of scientists, artists, citizens, and leaders.

For more information on ways you can make a lasting impact at the ROM please contact Janice Correa, Director, Legacy & Leadership Gifts, at 416.586.5578 or via email at  janicec@rom.on.ca
