My sister has been inspiring and motivating me to make healthier eating choices by sharing her knowledge of wellness and healthy lifestyle. And even more important by example - my sister practices what she shares/teaches. The inside of her fridge holds more fresh and organic veggies and fruit than some markets.
You too can now have access to all that I have been learning - as she has started sharing her tips for taking small steps in your day to transition into a healthier lifestyle on Facebook - you can find her at FC Wellness Company and start being inspire and motivated to cultivating a healthier lifestyle.
She recently shared with her readers the Simple Green Smoothies 30 day challenge and of course as someone who is not so good at getting all her daily veggies ~ I had to give it a try.
Sampling of some of the shopping list items for the first week of the 30 day challenge ...
Being at our city home I did not have my trusty Kitchen Aide blender ... but this Ninja blender worked quite well.
The first day smoothie:
Almond Joy
2 Cups fresh kale, stems removed
2 Cups almond milk
1 banana
2 ripe pears
2 TBs unsweetened shredded coconut
2 TBs organic raw cacao powder
2 Cups almond milk
1 banana
2 ripe pears
2 TBs unsweetened shredded coconut
2 TBs organic raw cacao powder
This smoothie contains 5 servings of fruits and veggies!!
and it tasted delicious ....

I soooo need to do this in the new year. Healthier eating is one of my goals for 2014. Happy New Year, my friend!
ReplyDeleteHow fabulous, thanks for sharing ...I am now a "liker"! I am pretty healthy and juice daily, but my goal for 2014 is to up it a notch, and to get more greens into my boys! I hope that you are "weathering" the cold ok, I know it has been just nasty there :(.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Celia!!!
Nathalie
Happy New Year lovely lady.
ReplyDeleteStarted juicing too Celia. I started last October. But on my quest to become healthier I am going to "try" and give up wheat. I've been reading the book Wheat Belly and was flabbergasted by what I was reading. So that is also part of my 2014 objectives/goals.
Off to look at your sister's FB page now ;-) xx
Very good post, Celia. You are inspirational! We are trying to eat more simply; that is to say, more lean protein, fruits, and vegetables and less processed foods and multiple ingredient foods. It will help our budget and our health.
ReplyDeleteDearest Celia,
ReplyDeleteThat sure is a yummy recipe for blending healthy leafy greens with fruits. Very good start for 2014!
Hugs,
Mariette
I just can't do smoothies. Is that awful??
ReplyDeleteI haven't gotten off to a good start this year but am trying to make small changes. We'll see how it goes!
Celia, This is wonderful! Good for you! Everything looks so healthy. I'm big on juicing and have posted some of my favorites on my blog from time to time. Looks like your new year is off to a great start!
