Hello ~ I'm Making My Way Back...

Hello Lovelies:

I know it's been a while since I last posted here and visited many of you, thank you for all the emails and PM asking how I was doing -  know I'm slowly working my way back. There have been lots of changes happening all around me; some by choice, others not so much. In the midst of the chaos I launched the Resilientista Magazine (which I'll share more about on it's own future post); and my calendar has been filled with lots of community service, and taking care of my health & wellness.

As I reviewed all that was on my desk, I realized that I was in need of some serious streamlining for my well being, so I started to look at ways to do this. Writing two blogs was really overwhelming and so I have decided to only blog here. And will be restructuring Resilientista to better reflect the direction it is taking, which will no longer include a blog section. But don't worry lovelies, it is remaining self care , self love, and creating the life you want to be living in the next chapter of  your life -  focused. It will also be highlighting some extraordinary women who are passionate about helping women live their best life - can't wait to share all the fabulousness with you!!

Since I will be a little wrapped up finalizing the restructuring of Resilientista over the next couple of months, I'm sharing below some of the most popular posts from Resilientista Musings, you may not have seen or perhaps would enjoy reading again.

I'm looking forward to being back to the blogging world very soon.

Back to Blogging Basics ... what I've realized on my blogging break

Hello my sweet friends thank you to everyone (you know who you are) who commented, sent me emails and cards during my blogging break encouraging me to not give up blogging - know that your gestures and words meant the world to me. I also want to say thank you to the new readers who are following along - what a nice surprise to return to.

When I started my blogging break at the end of July, I really thought it would be a baby step towards hanging up my blogging heels. I had started to struggle with what to write and the self-imposed pressure to post was adding to my already chaotic off-line life. Something had to give, and giving up blogging seemed like a good start.

Being away from blogging gave me a little clarity on what was happening with my post writing (or not happening)  - they say "sometimes one can't see the trees for the forest" - and this was the case here. Blogging wasn't adding to the chaos of my off-line life, my choice to not write about the challenges I was facing was holding me back from actually writing posts.

When I started blogging in 2010 it was to share my journey of healing post accident in hopes of inspiring and helping others facing a similar situation to keep moving forward and not give up. My journey and challenges may look/be different now ... but I can't be the only who is facing these "new" life challenges, so back to blogging basics of sharing my journey as I keep moving forward.

Something important that I also realized is that I can write and post when I am able too, there is no deadline other than the one I create for myself. So I may not post as often (and at times more regular) - and that's OK. I hope you will keep reading along as I get back on my heels ... the journey may be wobbly at times as I learn to stand confident, tall, independent, and achieve my balance, but one things for sure it's going to be a brilliant adventure!

I'm looking forward to returning to blogging and sharing with my long time readers and new readers of HHL about healthy living, fashion, beauty, travel and everything that helps me keep moving forward and  living a luxuriously balanced life.

Would love for you to share in the comments - how you keep blogging and if blogging breaks have helped you to refocus your blog's direction?

With Love and Gratitude,

A Little Indulgence on a Cold Day ...

Autumn my favourite season is in full swing! creating a colorful pallet everywhere you go. The days range from sunny and warm to somber and cool. As the season progresses the cold temps seem to gain speed, preparing us for the even colder days of winter.

There is nothing more relaxing after a long day than getting in a tub to soak away the day's stress and as the temps begin to drop warm up your bones too!

A bath is the perfect opportunity to treat yourself to a little luxury. Here are some of my favourite bath time indulgences:

Laura Mercier - Almond Coconut Milk Honey bath and body butter. The delicious scent of almond milk and honey bath infuse the bath water, emitting a gentle fragrance, turning my bathroom into a relaxing and soothing luxurious oasis. After twenty minutes or so of submerging my body in this heavenly liquid, my body is left feeling refreshed, nourished and silky smooth.
The body butter is a super-rich moisturizer which absorbs quickly into the skin - Shea butter, llipe butter, grape seed oil and Jojoba Esters work to moisturize and hydrate the skin, while honey and aloe vera help to soothe.

When I'm enjoying a Himalayan salt bath Cire Trudon candles are perfect for infusing the air with a fragrant relaxing scent. Two of my favourite fragrances are Trianon regal & floral - a tribute to Marie Antoinette; galbanum, hyacinth, rose, white flowers & musk and Mademoiselle de la Valliere spicy floral - named for the lover of Louis the XIV; bergamot, orange blossom, tuberose, jasmine, ylang, musk & rockrose.

Cire Trudon candles are from the world's oldest candle maker. They began in 1643 and some of their clients include Louis XIV's Versailles Court, Napoleon Bonaparte's home, and they still supply the cathedral at Saint-Sulpice in Paris. Each Cire Trudon candles is made from pure vegetal material, the wicks are made from pure cotton.  No heavy metals or pesticides are involved in their manufacturing and they are entirely biodegradable. Candles are 9.5 oz, 270 g, and burn for 85 hours.

A little soothing music is great to help unwind and calm the mind. If you don't already have your own playlist of soothing bathtime music visit Global -Journey Gifts where you can choose from 25 free downloads.

I like to stock up on white Egyptian cotton towels when ever there is a sale. To me white, plush towels just seem to give that luxurious spa feel - at home.

The final item is a plush white bathrobe to curl up in after your bath.

Would love to hear your tips for taking the cool autumn chill off and what you do to make bath-time a luxurious experience.

Hugs and Blessings,

I'm Living Life ...

Welcome to Week-end Inspiration...

As you may noticed there are some changes going on here on the blog most notably a new header and direction for the blog- as the title indicates. Since starting this blog in 2010 I have been writing about falling off my high heeled life and the journey through healing (physically, mentally and emotionally) and creating a new me and life, after my accident.

What I have come to realize on this journey is that as I heal and become stronger (physically, mentally, emotionally) I am embracing once again the vivacious, independent, driven, fashionista - that had patiently waited out (in sweats and yoga pants) the time through my early healing when I would come to realize I am still the same person - only with greater knowledge of what I want in my life, greater compassion for others, greater respect for the gift that is life, greater connection to my creator and an even greater thirst to enjoy each and every moment ... to make it a well HEALED life. High Heeled Life (I have come to learn over the past few years) is no longer about excess for me - but about quality ... in every aspect of my life. Friendships, relationships, volunteering, fashion, eating and living.

As I move forward in my journey of living my High Heeled Life I'm looking forward to sharing ideas and inspirations to encourage you to start living your life as you dream it to be - your own version of a High Heeled Life without breaking the bank.

I hope these quotes - that I'm Loving - below will inspire to live your High Heeled Life - starting NOW!

I love this quote it sums up what I am learning!!

Live as if this was your last year, month, week or day ... what would you start doing differently? What are you waiting for... unless you have a crystal ball you have know idea of how long your human journey will continue.
Use the good china, crystal ....

When was the last time you MADE time for Yourself? Remember you are the most important person in your life .. If you are not healthy, happy, and fulfilled you are of little help to those you love.

Pamper yourself ... whether with an at home spa day or a treat to the spa.
Use the luxurious bubble bath and the good towels.

Whatever your dreams, hopes - start this minute taking action towards bring them to life!

Wishing you a High Heeled Life week-end.

Hugs and Blessings,
