Dolce Escapes to Cottage Country

My cousin Kobi spends the winters in Florida and the summers at the cottage in The French River. So, Mommy and Daddy decided to take a drive up to spend some time with his Mommy and Daddy (Auntie and Uncle M , to me). It was too hot for Stella to go (her crate would have to go in the back of Daddy's truck) so she went to visit the children and grandma M in the city. Since I'm little and my car seat fits in the A/C part of Mommy's SUV, I got to go too!!! 

Here I am in my cottage attire...

Kobi - thought I should tough it out and be a doggie...

Woof! Woof ! but our Daddys' are catching up... Mommy go faster...

Woof ! There goes Daddy and Uncle M. in the other boat...

Ah finally at the cottage. We have to boat in, cause it's on its own island.

Kobi is always ready to play he is only 7 months old...

Are you sure it's ok to be outside by ourselves? With no leash?

Woof! Woof! Kobi and I ran all over the island ... he showed me where go ...

I got to explore on my own too!!!

Ok ..Mommy .... I'll keep my hat and goggles on ...

Hmmm... I've never been in a lake before....

That was fun!!! and it felt really good...

 

But I'm only going in up to my belly!

WOOF! WOOF! I want a lake ... can we get one for our country home?

Road Trip, Monster Cats, & Dolce Dreams -Dolce PawsPost

Boy did I have a fun week! I went to visit my friend Daisy at her Mommy's and Daddy's new cottage in Huntsville, on the week-end... it was a really long drive. I sat in my Doggie-car -seat and was a really good boy. Daisy was really happy to see me!

We had lots of fun chasing each other...and no leash!!! Mommy wasn't too happy when I came back all wet from the grass. Maybe that's why she was calling me to come back... opps! My sister Stella just watched like a good Big Sister ... she is very calm.

All was going great until we went inside. I was greeted by these great big furry things - I didn't know what they were, I knew they couldn't be doggies!!!

I WARNED you... BIG!!!! I saw my whole doggie life pass before, then Daisy's Mommy came to my rescue. I stayed really close to Mommy and Daddy the rest of the week-end...

After a week-end like that - the rest of the week was a walk in doggie-dream land!

Hmm... if I jump on that chair ... can I jump that high? Lets see what is on Mommy's Computer...

What do you mean I can't pick my own channel? Did you forget, I was traumatized by that Big Fuury Monster ...

Thought you would see it my way... now where is that show with Humphrey? He looks just like me..

The Lillies are starting to bloom ... they smell so sweet!!

The Butterfly garden has so many new flowers too!

Cottage Life Road Trip - Dolce PawsPost Fridays

We are going to see Auntie M and Uncle M. They have a cottage on the French River and Mommy found a cottage (with Auntie's help) that is just minutes from them and also is 4-legged family member friendly. I can hardly wait to get there - and my sister Stella is coming too!!! Oh and Uncle P is joining us. I'm so excited!!!

Come Daddy lets go ... 

When we are there I have to wear a doggie-life vest in case I fall in the river.

What do you mean I can't drive the boat? This is not fair - no swimming,

now no driving... What is a Dolce to do?

My new friend Crombie came each morning to play with us. He is a Bichon-Poodle mix. He belongs to the family that owns the cottages. He was so friendly and playful - I didn't mind sharing my treats with him.

That's Daddy and Uncle P, they are fishing. Mommy is enjoyng reading.

All of this playing and fresh air makes me tired. Time for a nap.

I got to go for a ride on Auntie M's and Uncle M's boat. It was so much fun having the wind blow through my hair (yes, hair ... I'm a Yorkie we have hair. My sister Stella is a lab - she has fur). I had alot of fun with Auntie M, she made me feel really welcome and she likes to play and always carries doggie treats.

Can I go swimming yet? Nope..

 Auntie M, held me so I could look into the water.

Saying bye to Crombie's human sisters... they were alot of fun to play with.

If you and your family are looking for a great place to get away from the city - tell your Mommy and Daddy that you want to go to Camp Wanikewin Lodge . Crombie's Grandpa Ken and Daddy Steve, are very friendly and helpful. There is even a lodge area with full restaurant, and lounging area - and if Mommy or Daddy - really need to stay connected - they offer free internet. The cabins are very clean and have all that you need while you are there. Lots of people come up from the  US. Maybe I will see you there, Daddy says he will take me back again!!!
