Adding a little luxury to your life does not have to be expensive. It's about taking simple things in life and making them a little more special.
Enjoying a cup of tea is a great opportunity to bring a little luxury into your day. Instead of just plopping a tea bag in a mug and walking about your home or office with it in hand, let your tea steep in a teapot and then sip your tea from a china teacup.
And why not add a little treat ... these are a Greek pastry called "touloumbes" from a local bakery.
Make every day a Luxuriously and Balanced one,
Stay in Step with High Heeled Life ...

China teacups can be found at antique shops, flea markets, yard sales and even at your favourite home goods shops at all price points. The Royal Standard china teacup above was found at a local resale shop and it is one I use often.
Steeping tea in an actual teapot ... also provides a few minutes of quiet time for reflection on your day. This treasure is a hand painted Limoges France I found in a Vermont antique shop (with a sugar and creamer) when visiting my French friend Victoria.
Whether you enjoy your cup of tea daily, weekly or occasionally make it special.

I grew up in a household that drank a lot of tea in the afternoon. My grandmother always had "the" or "tea" at 4:00 in the afternoon. When I was with her in the South of France we took it outside by the pool. In England in the cool library, often with the fireplace... Always served in fine China. I've started drinking more and more myself lately. Though I never make an effort to bring out the teapot and use the good cups... I really should. I will. This weekend!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree...which is no surprise to you! Lol! Love teacup and teapot. It definitely does add a bit of elegance and restful beauty to a cup of tea!

Dearest Celia,
ReplyDeleteLovely photos and very meaningful post. So important to make it a special part of the day to look forward to. A little ritual for warming up body and soul.
Just noticed that on my side line the pink envelope of your social networks button, above the blog post, is showing instead of the first photo IN your blog. Guess that needs to be changed because the photo is so lovely.
Sending you hugs and weekend blessings for both of you and all your furry babies.
Mariette
I completely agree. I'm not a tea drinker but will often drink my diet coke out of a wine glass! How's that for fancy? xox
ReplyDeleteCelia Hello! Long time no blog for me. Happy to pop in and visit an old friend as I knew I would find inspiration and bright joy as always. You never dissapoint. Take care and wishing you well.
