Being in the city has many perks ... like getting out of the staple of yoga pants and khakis of country life and slipping on some heels and real pants!
I would have to agree...it is divine!
The event was held in the Distillery District and it was well attended ...

Mr. G. and I recently had the pleasure of attending a book launch for Caron Leid, hosted by our dear friend Peter Rattan - Founder & Creative Director of räh - rattan art house .
For my tea loving readers ... I'm going to steep a cup of tea using tea that was in the gratitude bags given out at the launch along with some others wonderful goodies.
I have shared this tea cup before ... but thought it was perfect for today's tea. It is Spice of Life by Judith Glover and the theme always brightens my day. It's also a generous size cup so perfect for enjoying this delicious tea.
The tea is called Margaret's Hope - Darjeeling tea... a delicate tending astringent cup with the distinctive "Muscatel' character with hints of currant an almost wine like taste. - black tea. (as per the tag) -
Now that we have our tea let's go to the party...
This is Caron's first book and it chronicles her journey into the world of Alzheimer's with her mother. Caron takes you through first learning of her mother's disease; navigating the care system; dealing with personal care workers; holding onto to her sanity and finally coming to acceptance of the path she was now on. Through each page you can feel the love, care and respect Caron has for her mother.
You will also find a great list of resources of Alzheimer's societies around the world and detailed accounts of the treatments her mother faced.
A most touching story that I recommend anyone who has a loved one facing Alzheimer's read. This is also a great gift for anyone who has a friend or family member facing Alzheimer's.
To learn more about Caron or to order her book I invite you to visit her website Caron Leid . Her book is also available through Barnes & Noble - in both hard and soft cover.

It was an amazing evening!!! ... and the cupcakes ...lets just say I wish I had one to accompany my tea this afternoon!! Tres YUMMY!!
Now for my fashionista readers ... This is what I wore...
White Burberry pant (Holt's a few seasons ago); black silk blouse from Femme de Carrier - (Vaughan Mills almost 6 years ago) and Gucci heels (Holt's gift from the furbabies at Christmas couple years back )!! ... I love the pocket detail and button on the Burberry pant..
These heels are more comfy than they appear!!!
and perfect for summer fun...
Caron Leid (L) in a gorgeous white pant suit ...and Caroline (R) MC for the evening ... I must find out where her dress is from ... she looked tres chic and I love how she pair the over the knee boot with her dress ...

Bonjour mon ami!! You look absolutely beautiful and what a fun event! xoxo, B
ReplyDeleteDearest Celia,
ReplyDeleteWow, you looked so very stylish in your outfit. Perfect for this book launch.
Both of you look great and so does the author Ms Caron and Ms Caroline.
Wishing you a lovely summer and hope you can enjoy many cups of tea in your garden!
Hugs,
Mariette
I wish wish wish I'd had her book back when I was dealing with my mom. What a nightmare the care-giver system was (and thank God for my son who quit his job to take care of his gram for the last year and a half of her life). I am going to get her book. And dalink? YOU LOOK MARVELOUS!! And in HEELS!! Yay you. So beautiful. And now I know what the G stands for in Mr. G - Gorgeous!!!!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice entry and I will have to remember this book. My father-in-law has short term memory loss that we have been dealing with for quite a long time now and they say it is just a matter of time, before his mind goes deeper within. For the first time in over 50 years of knowing and loving him, he did not know who I was, just for a minute, but still...a week ago. Such a heart breaking disease. Thank you for sharing~
ReplyDeleteI am letting everyone know, as some have sent messages... I'll be back next week. Having some difficulty adjusting to new medication and old ones, but will in time~
Love the outfit and love that cute tea-cup set.
ReplyDeleteAlzheimer's is one of the diseases that terrifies me the most. I will check out the book.
Hope you are well C xx
Love that outfit. And that tea sounds intriguing. Thank you for sharing about the book.
ReplyDeleteCute outfit. I could never wear those heels although they look nice. I am glad there is so much research and info about Alzheimer's now. I wished we had known years ago. The tea sounds good and thank you for joining me for tea. Have a lovely week.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
