Did you stop to smell the flowers? - Don't miss the Kaleidoscope of Autumn

The weather has really changed in Toronto, temps have started to hit single digits on a regular basis. I came across these photos from late summer/early autumn when the days were warm. Short sleeves have  since been replaced with sweaters and jackets.

In today's world of being constantly connected it is important to stop and smell the flowers. No matter where you live there is always a little green space somewhere in the city. And I did just that on this particular Sunday afternoon, these beauties are part of  Village of Yorkville Park - which is a series of unique gardens located on the south side of Cumberland Street stretching west from Bellair Street reflecting the diversity of the Canadian landscape.

Mother Nature's fragrant summer blossoms may be hard to find this time of year but the kaleidoscope of colours that she gifts us during autumn is a sight to behold. So, make sure on your walks and drives that you take a moment to pause and take in the one of a kind art display only Mother Nature can create, before you look up and realize the show is over.

What I wore: sneakers- Chuck Taylor Converse; khakis - Gap; belt - Hermès; blouse - Max Studio; black cross necklace - market find (old); white watch - Lucien Piccard; bracelet - The Essence Collection Pandora; sunglasses - Gucci; tote - Louis Vuitton

Staying Cool - Afternoon in the Park

The temperatures in Toronto have been hitting extreme HOT levels. Daily temps staying firm around the mid to high 30 degree Celsius - and with humidity feeling more like low to mid 40s. In the evenings there has not been much relief with temperatures only dipping to high and mid 20s - and humid most nights. Skirts, shorts and sleeveless tops have definitely become the days go to wardrobe pieces, for trying to beat the heat.

For those who follow HHL on Instagram you may already know my treat of choice for staying cool has quickly become GELATO!! and I even discovered a place that offers a little kick in their gelato choices - with a Tecquila Mojito gelato, which I may or may not have indulged in ...

What I wore : sleeveless blouse - Pink Rose  : skirt - Lilly Pulitzer; sandals - Lilly Pulitzer: accessories: watch - Lucien Piccard; tote - Louis Viutton; sunglasses - Gucci

What are your go to wardrobe pieces when the heat is on full blast?

What I Wore to Write ...

One of the great things about writing is that you can do it in the of your home comfort and I may or may not have done it from the comfort of my bed in jammies on occasion.

But on this day I decided it was time to start dressing beyond my jammies and sweats - even if I was not planning on going anywhere: So this is what I wore ~ Elie Tahari jeans, Banana Republic grey sweater; for accessories I chose my orange Hermes bangle, Ralph Lauren black leather belt, a necklace with black leather rope and metal pendant ( a gift from Angel P's mother) and black leather strap Lucien Piccard watch.

And when I was ready for a break it was easy to head out the door I just added my a black leather Town Shoes booties  (a gift to me during the 2013 boxing week sale). and of course my heavy winter coat as it's has been extremely cold here.

If you work from home what is your go to clothing choices to be comfortable but still ready to head out?
