The weather has been out of this world AMAZING this past week, in Toronto. Days have been sunshine filled with temperatures in the high 20s and low 30s (feeling much hotter on humid days). Evenings have remained hot; only cooling off in the early hours of the morning just before the heat takes over again. On the odd evening a slight breeze has been welcomed, encouraging evening outings. The week-end was more of the same.
Having spent the day doing chores around the city house and various trips to Home Depot on Saturday, Mr. G. and I rewarded ourselves with dinner out. After a wonderful meal at Trattoria Nervosa the warmth of the evening called for a gelato stop at Zaza's and a stroll through Yorkville.
There is still a lot of construction taking place on Yorkville Avenue - but the finish looks close - and it's much easier to navigate your way from one side of the street to the other. The new cobblestone street is looking fabulous.
Thankfully the parkette is on Cumberland - the waterfall fountain, natural gardens, and ample places to sit (from table and chairs, sitting on the rock ledges or the big rock right beside the Cumberland subway exit) is perfect for walking off some extra calories or just extending an evening outing a little longer while enjoying this great weather!!
What I wore : blouse - Simply Errisistible : pants - Elie Tahari; wedge sandals - Stuart Weitzman : accessories: watch - Cartier; pink bracelet - Galm&Tease; bead bracelet - Pandora Essence Collection; blue cuff bracelet, dangly blue earrings and silver & blue stone ring - finds at various Artisan markets; tote - Louis Viutton; handbag shoe decoration - gift from dear friend Mariette of Mariette's Back to Basics; eye glasses - Chanel

You look fabulous! I love your outfit, shoes and bag! Great Summer look.
ReplyDeleteHugs,

Thanks Fabby .. linen and cotton are great for helping to stay cool in the hot weather...
DeleteNo city, just country and a town. We swim when the humidity let's us breath - otherwise it's reading inside or an occasional movie in AIR CONDITIONING. We like swim suits or 100% cotton best for cool clothing! You look marvelous, dalink!!
ReplyDeleteYou are looking so young. Your bag is very beautiful, which exactly matches with your clothes. I am in love with this designer bag Australia and I now I will buy this bag as soon as possible.
ReplyDeleteDearest Celia,
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet surprise to read this... you make me homesick again for Toronto and especially on a summer evening. Yes, rewarding yourselves with a special dinner after a day of hard work is the very best you can do. Also a gelato and a stroll through beautiful Yorkville. Wait till all the construction is over with... that will make quite a difference!
You look so very chic and cool in your outfit; love all the accessories too and above all the shout out! Thank you so much mon amie - sending you hugs and blessings.
Mariette
Celia, it has been So very hot and humid here, however when the evenings DO cool off it is perfect for going to the sidewalk cafes, listen to outdoor music and go to gallery events! Love your blouse!!

ReplyDeleteI had a old friend from school suffer an accident a while ago (found out on FB about a year later) I sent her here to encourage her that while right now for her is filled with pain meds, physical therapy and doctors appointments - it won't always be. Her doctors believe that with hard work she will reach full 100% recovery.
Thanks for sharing your path with everyone, allowing others to join you on your journey!
