Looking out my home office window the mountains of snow in my yard are starting to shrink and if I look closely small patches of green are beginning to appear. The birds singing is a welcoming sound to my ears. Like most people in Toronto I am ready to say good bye to winter and hello to spring!
To me spring is symbolic of decluttering and starting fresh. Perhaps the longer hours of day light encourage us to really see what we have been storing up over winter (material, emotional and physical). Or perhaps it's the extra burst of energy we feel when the temperature begins to climb and the sun shine, that persuades us to clean out the clutter. Either way it's a good time to freshen things up not just in our surroundings but also within our self.
Here are a few posts that I've written over the years to help get you inspired on some inward spring cleaning:

I've learned if I spend time first thing in the morning with God (before the hustle and voices of the day take over), reading my Bible, meditating, sitting quietly, and jotting down any thoughts that come to mind, my entire day goes so much more smoothly. I then know what to let go of and what to keep. I know where my grace is for that day so I know what to tackle first. I'm off to refresh my mind to your posts and apply!
ReplyDeleteYes, meditation and connecting with God are great ways to start the day...
DeleteDearest Celia,
ReplyDeleteOh, yesterday we walked for over an hour for the first time wearing our shorts in balmy warm sunshine. Nothing energizes more than that. Today I've been decluttering literally as I sat outside for sorting through some 80s postcards and letters. Found some joy and let go of others. Enjoying a cup of tea outside together with some chocolate and a mandarin was pure bliss. It does motivate us to clean up and get ready for new life, full of beauty.
Hugs to you dear!
Mariette
Sounds like a wonderful way to enjoy the warming temps. Oh how I wish we could be wearing shorts here... I know that it is just around the corner ... the seasons are one thing technology cannot speed up ...and something we can look forward to in this instant gratification world we are living in. Blessings - wishing you a wonderful week.
DeleteSpring is my favourite time of year! I like to clean out my closet, refresh - and also do the same thing in my make up drawer, kitchen...a new start.
ReplyDeleteWhere I live in California it doesn't even seem like I ever get winter, which I love. Spring/summer all year round :))))
ReplyDeleteLove always,

Thanks for the pep talk -- I hate Spring cleaning. Normally we do fall cleaning. Mostly because as soon as the sun starts to shine we head outdoors to get the yard started!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the sun!
