Tea Over Ice ....

The weather has finally kicked into summer like temperatures, which is fabulous!!!
So I thought I would share some tea over ice to help cool things down.

What fun to  be daring and taking tea outside on brisk winter's day...

The Fairmont Banff Springs - Afternoon Tea in 1924

Imagine how amazing it would be to have tea outside while the mountains are still  snow covered!

But when the garden becomes snow covered ....

You would be more likely to find me having tea by a warm fire.....

Of course I had to have some teacups for us to dream of.
And these are just wonderful teacups for our eyes.

If you are getting some of the hot temperatures you will be needing one of these teacups the hold some refreshing COLD tea over ice, after a long day in the garden.

  1. What a fab post! A novel idea, indeed. Don't think I'd like tea in the snow, although when we lived at 5,000 feet and went out in the snow to cut our Christmas tree I used to bring a thermos of hot tea. Love the photos...and I'll take mine by the fire, please! BTW, the toad in the hole I was raised with was in yorkshire pudding batter...like popover batter...with the sausages peeking out of the pud. Thanks for sharing, and thanks for linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea!

    1. Yum!! that sounds lovely too!! The toad in the hole I was introduced to you buttered a slice of bread both sides then cut a hole in the centre with a glass. The centre would be fried in pan along with an egg that was broken into the the centre of the toast slice; a flip over of both so both sides are golden brown and the taste was as sweet as heaven! They also introduced me to beans on toast. each time I have either I remember the family fondly. xo

  2. Dearest Celia,

    Lovely Tea post!
Got tired as we drove today from Lakeland, FL all the way home. Yesterday we left from Miami, FL. That is a one-way drive of 1,000 km which we break up in two. Lovely time at the Hyatt House in Miami and we swam and enjoyed being among palm trees. At home we have but one...
A bonus was the visit with dear friends. So we're back home, happy but exhausted the first day. There's lots to catch up on.
Have a great summer week yourself and enjoy your tea, hot of cold!
    Love to both of you,
    Mariette

  3. Fabulous post, mon ami! Your tea setting is lovely as always. I wouldn't be brave enough to have tea in the cold but would most definitely prefer to sit by the fire to enjoy a cup.
Your trip to Paris sounds FABULOUS!! I have not seen where Hemingway lived but we visited Shakespeare & Co... it was a must stop for me.
Although we loved staying in the 7th, we typically found our way to The Latin Quarter during the day. Perhaps we will stay there next. We walked by Les Deux Magots but it was too crowded to sit. I am definitely yearning for another trip and have been for quite some time. Mr G tried to take me last year but my school schedule interfered, and this summer, his work schedule interfered. We are planning a trip next summer to celebrate my graduation {however I will not be finished completely}. I plan to meet up with the Antiques Diva to tour to The Trade boutiques and Marché aux Puces St-Ouen de Clignancourt. I have a list a mile long...
Wishing you a beautiful week! xoxo, B

  5. Hello dear Celia,
Sorry I made a boo-boo in my first comment and had to delete it...
What a fun post! Since I am definitely not a winter person, I would prefer my tea by the fire, thank you. When we are in the middle of ice and snow season, I dream about springtime and summer. And of course, in Canada, if we have iced tea on the table it more than likely means it's warm outside, so I will have a glass of that too. Thank you for joining me for tea and have a delightful day. Nice to have you back!

    Blessings & hugs,
    Sandi

  8. Hello Ceilia, your post is fab! I love the images you have used, the tea cup one for sure! But I am also loving the one of the mountains. I would love to have tea out doors with a view like that! Wow!
I do like "Iced" tea, on a hot day.

  9. Celia, maybe, just maybe tea with a view of Banff...because, well it's breathtaking. Now, as far as summer goes I do love an iced tea. Still like my hot tea in the morning but the rest of the day I'm iced tea gal!

  11. Oh my gosh! Where did you find that picture of tea at the Banff hotel? It is a hoot. I was there but no one came dressed like that to serve me tea. (Ha)
The picture of the teacups sets me into a tailspin. I could look at it all day!

  14. Thanks for dropping by! I hope you find a system to help organize _____.
I love the look of hot tea in the snow! This would be great in Jan/Feb when we normally get one to two "hot" winds that blow through.
I LOVE ice tea in the summer! It refreshes like nothing else can!
Right now I am harvesting my mint leaves every few weeks and allowing it to dry so that next winter I can have my own home grown tea!
    ;)
Until next time - blessing to you my friend
