From Heaven to Earth to Heaven and Back ...

If you would have told me 6 years ago that:

I would be scrap booking and blogging
I would be living in the countryside
I would be wearing flat shoes on a regular basis
I would be a doting Doggie-mom to 3 furbabies
I would be in a relationship, let alone with someone who is a widow
I would be focusing on how I could help others with my time
I would be asking Angels and Spirit Guides for direction
I would be writing

I would have responded...
" I think you have either had one drink too many,
been out in the sun too long or gone mad? ... My career is my top priority, I have no time for any of that! ... And I may not be religious, but I do believe in God ~ there is no time for middle Angels or Guides, I speak straight to the top ".

Of course if you have been a regular reader of this blog, you already know God had other plans for me. So while I had been busy living and making plans for the grande lifestyle I wanted. And perhaps not remembering the purpose I had come to this place called earth, HE decided to give me a little time to think ... about why I was here and what I truly NEEDED.

This "time" HE gave me even included a trip (HE knows how I loved to travel) - this trip of course would be Home and would not involve a plane. Instead it would be HIS helping Angels that would lift me into the sky and along the way refresh my mind about what really is important to do with this time we are gifted with here on earth.

I have been told prayers were being said for me throughout Europe, Africa, South and North America, Asia – the power of the internet, loving family and friends throughout the world, spread the need of prayer for me.

I was truly blessed to have so many people from different cultures, religions, backgrounds and beliefs coming together for my survival.

I have been asked - "Why is that despite how hard some people pray their loved ones, they still return HOME while others survive?" The answer that comes to me is  ~ We pray for this person to survive. And they do survive (trust me on this). How they survive may not be the way we WANT, but the way they NEED to survive. We all survive this life we live here, some by staying longer to fully complete their purpose. While others having completed their work return Home (before us), to decide which lessons they will return to learn or teach next.

Through time, compassion and love comes healing. From our darkest and hardest times we learn our most valued lessons and experience our most rapid growth. ~ as quoted by Artist Jane Crisp.

I have been blessed with the gift of returning HOME (YES, there really is a HOME we all come from - it is called various names, depending where in the world you were born/raised. Heaven is what I have been taught to call it ). And double blessed with the gift of remembering such a precious gift, though the how to carry out my purpose here, is buried deep within my sub-conscious - I know it's there and I am meant to find strength in this dark journey, so that I may help others find the strength to come out of their own dark journeys and go on to fulfill their purpose in this life-time.

Though we may be alone ... We are never truly alone, if we believe and have a little faith.

A drunk man in an Oldsmobile
They said had run the light
That caused the six-car pileup
On 109 that night.

When broken bodies lay about
And blood was everywhere,
The sirens screamed out eulogies,
For death was in the air.

A mother, trapped inside her car,
Was heard above the noise;
Her plaintive plea near split the air:
Oh, God, please spare my boys!"

She fought to loose her pinned hands;
She struggled to get free,
But mangled metal held her fast
In grim captivity.

Her frightened eyes then focused
On where the back seat once had been,
But all she saw was broken glass and
Two children's seats crushed in.

Her twins were nowhere to be seen;
She did not hear them cry,
And then she prayed they'd been thrown free,
Oh, God, don't let them die!"

Then firemen came and cut her loose,
But when they searched the back,
They found therein no little boys,
But the seat belts were intact.

They thought the woman had gone mad
And was travelling alone,
But when they turned to question her,
They discovered she was gone.

Policemen saw her running wild
And screaming above the noise
In beseeching supplication,
Please help me find my boys!

They're four years old and wear blue shirts;
Their jeans are blue to match."
One cop spoke up, "They're in my car,
And they don't have a scratch.

They said their daddy put them there
And gave them each a cone,
Then told them both to wait for Mom
To come and take them home.

I've searched the area high and low,
But I can't find their dad.
He must have fled the scene,
I guess, and that is very bad."

The mother hugged the twins and said,
While wiping at a tear,
He could not flee the scene, you see,
For he's been dead a year."

The cop just looked confused and asked,
Now, how can that be true?"
The boys said, "Mommy, Daddy came
And left a kiss for you."

He told us not to worry
And that you would be all right,
And then he put us in this car with
The pretty, flashing light.

We wanted him to stay with us,
Because we miss him so,
But Mommy, he just hugged us tight
And said he had to go.

He said someday we'd understand
And told us not to fuss,
And he said to tell you, Mommy,
He's watching over us."

The mother knew without a doubt.
That what they spoke was true,
For she recalled their dad's last words,
I will watch over you."

The firemen's notes could not explain
The twisted, mangled car,
And how the three of them escaped
Without a single scar.

But on the cop's report was scribed,
In print so very fine,
An angel walked the beat tonight
on Hwy. 109

One Chapter Finishes ~ Another Begins...

First THANK YOU, with all my heart to everyone who left a comment or sent an email with encouraging words of wisdom, support and inspiration in response to my previous post. Each and everyone one of you contributed to giving me strength to turn the final page of the Chapter that was my pre-accident life.

With the support of various psychologists, rehab team and you wonderful readers in my post accident journey I`m learning it`s OK to go back and re-read a paragraph or two. But to continue on it`s best to keep these re-read visits short and quickly get back to living as that is the only way this current draft is going to turn into a solid Chapter as good or better than the ones I have already lived.

The next Chapters in my life have patiently been waiting.....

To be written!

And may you too, be writing your next page or chapter in this amazing thing we call LIFE!

See you soon ...

Needing a Little Inspiration...

No matter how hard I try to make October just another month. Each year somehow the thoughts of knowing that life for me, changed forever during this month, seem to gain momentum and strength like an out of control avalanche.

As the days pass one by one towards the 28th, a dark cloud starts creeping like a thief in the night, blurring my dreams. This is not the first year, so I know that a re-birth like feeling will eventually replace this cloud, but the journey remains as dark and scary nonetheless.

If you are going through your own dark and scary journey ~ know that you are not alone. A rainbow will eventually come. Until then try to remember your Angels are always there to protect you ~ you only have to ask for their help and comforting warmth.

See you on the rainbow....

Happy 75th Mom!!!

My mother turned 75 this week-end!!

There were lots of flowers and this gorgeous cake ... my sister had a cake created with photos of my mother  from her youth to present day. It was breathe taking to see the detail in the photos ~ each one holding a special memory of her life.

and of course many gifts to open!!!

My mother said the best gift ~ was having her three children, their respective spouse and of course her pride and joy, baby Matthew (my brother's son) helping her celebrate! We know my father was there with us all in spirit and smiling that his beloved was turning 75.

Happy birthday to my darling Mother! To many more wonderful and healthy years ahead....

Are You Getting Enough ...

via

...WATER ?

Water makes up more than two thirds of the human body, without it we would die within a few days. Despite knowing this and living in a part of the world where free, clean water is easily accessible many of us do not drink enough water to maintain our body properly hydrated.

Cell and organ function that make up our entire anatomy and physiology depend on water to work properly. Our senses are based on receptor cells, these receptors respond to nerve stimuli and send nerve impulses along sensory neurons. The brain which interprets nerve impulses enables us to perceive the impulse as one of our senses.

The brain is 90% water, those of us who have sustained brain injuries may not realize that our sense of thirst has significantly declined, and our impaired memory does not help us to remember to drink water. Medications such as antihistamines and certain antidepressants also increase our fluid needs. Dehydration adds additional stress to other areas in the body that are already struggling due to injury.

A Party Invite ...what shoes to wear!!

I have received a very special party invite!!

Now if I could only decide which heels to wear... this would normally not be a challenge, but flats have been the shoe of choice for the past 6 years ... I could use a little HELP!!!

After taking inventory of which heels I have kept and emptying box after box I have narrowed my choices down to FOUR ...

These I picked up during one of my many week-end escapes to Miami Florida, and possibly the last sexy pair that I still hold on to from my pre-accident life. These went with everything and could dance the night away!!

These Dolce and Gabbana heels begged for me to pull out that little plastic card. They fit fabulous and so long as I don't walk too much they are great for going out to dinner. Love the pop of colour the red gives to a LBDs.

A Day at the Stables

Autumn is the perfect season for enjoying time outdoors ~ not too hot, not too cold. Living in the countryside autumn is also the time of the year when many horse farms open their stables to the public and equestrian lessons begin. I think the outfit below is perfect for watching lessons in action or an afternoon taking in the treasures of the museum or art gallery in the city.

Writing from the Heart ~ Ruth Johnston

BlogLand truly is a magical land, there really is no other place quite like it. When you make the decision to become one of it's citizens by starting a blog and staking a little piece of virtual real-estate in this infinite land, you have no idea how you will touch the lives of others or how they in turn will touch your life!

Ruth Johnston, blog author of Life the Universe and all that's in it, is one of the special people in Blogland, no topic is taboo. Some posts you read will make you pause to really think about life, the universe and as her blog title says "and all that's in it". Her raw writing on life captivates you and when a post comes to and end .. it leaves you wanting more! Ruth is also an accomplished Poet, and some of her poetry can be found in a small piece of virtual BlogLand real-estate known as My Own Poetry Corner.

Having been a regular reader of both her blogs for the past couple of years, when Ruth announced that she was taking her most personal work to date and publishing it, to say I was excited for her, would be an understatement ~ I quickly put in my pre-order for her book.

As a fan of her writing, I was honoured and humbled when asked if I would preview the book before its official release. I received an email with the complete contents of the book. The poetry is heart felt, and the photography absolute mastery! To say I highly recommend it is an ABSOLUTE YES!  I am awaiting my own hard copy and already known a few more copies will be ordered as gifts.

I invite you to step into the world of Ruth Johnston with the trailer for her first (of many) books/novels~
Word Intoxication

Ruth, congratulations on a dream come true for you! May you continue to make the world a better place by sharing your written word and photography through books and novels! Many hugs and Blessings , Celia.

Tea with Elizabeth and Lady Carlye

My dear friend Elizabeth, who spent the last 3 months of 2011 and the better part of 2012 traveling the world, finally returned home. After coordinating our schedules we were able to catch up in late summer over a cup of tea and some yummy treats. The weather was extremely hot so, we sat comfortably inside looking out  to the gardens. Come along and join us for tea...

I had not seen Elizabeth since our trip to Paris in October 2011 ~ at the end of our week in Paris, I flew home, while Elizabeth went off to see the world.
During our time in Paris,  Elizabeth introduced me to Mariage Frères Maison de Thé  (definitely a must go to - when you are in Paris). To celebrate her return home I decided Casablanca tea from Mariage Frères would be perfect! served in my Lady Carlyle teapot by Royal Albert,

For the desserts I choose this hand painted robin egg blue pedestal plate, Porcelain de France.

Autumn Country Garden Walk...

One of the the many wonderful things about living in the country is the symphony of colour Mother Nature plays this time of the year.

Let's take a walk and see how the gardens are changing.
The trees on our property have been slowly changing from the vibrant green of summer...

Soon the chairs that we have found solace in through the warm summer evenings will be put away for the winter.

Outdoor activities for Mr. G. are changing from yard work to target practice for the up coming hunting season.
The butterfly garden is changing from it's bright colours to muted ones ...
