In the summer of 2006 I returned from a fabulous trip to the Azores (the islands of Portugal) with friends. Autumn brought great rewards ~ a fundraising dinner for a homeless youth shelter in my (then) community - where I sat as Fundraising Chair, was a success. I was excelling in my corporate career and was finally allowing my heart to open to a handsome and kind soul I had recently meant. My social calendar was always full.Life was going well ... I was living a High Heeled Life!
Fast forward to early December I'm opening my eyes for the first time in almost 6-7 weeks I become aware that I'm in the hospital and learn that I was a pedestrian struck by car during the last week of October. It will be late January - early February before I am able to return to my home,(with wheel chair, cane and 24 hour care) and continue my path to recovery. I became known as one of the miracles of Sunnybrook's trauma unit.
When I started this blog in 2010 , I had no idea how sharing my story and journey through recovery would inspire/touch the lives of others dealing with the same or similar circumstances, or those that cared for them. What I also had not counted on was discovering my purpose for having survived what doctor's said should have been a fatal accident and have no answers as to how I am still here.
I survived so that I could tell others without a doubt that heaven is real ~ I know this because I was there. Angels exist and are there to help us along our earthly human journey. Also to share with others that healing our energy after a traumatic event in our life is as important as healing emotional and physical injuries. Actually ensuring our energy is balanced is important to everyday living, even if you have not been a traumatic event.
Remember a High Heeled Life is not about excess, it's about being selective and realizing excess does not increase our quality of life. Our quality of life comes from achieving balance and peace within our self (mind, body and spirit). Once we have peace and balance we are able to create and live our individual versions of a High Heeled Life.
I look forward to sharing with readers of High Heeled Life, what I have learned along this journey of transition in my life. I hope to inspire you ~no matter the reason you may find your own life in transition ~ to create a YOU and Life that fit ~ Your own version of a High Heeled Life!
