That's Sophia Loren, I'm speaking of...
There is no dening that she is one of the most beautiful women in the world!

What's her secret to great looking skin?
Would you believe "the odd bath in virgin olive oil " and eating "pasta".. Yes, you read correctly! So, once in awhile don't be shy, add 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil to your bath water.
As for the pasta, Sophia says " Serve it with a sauce made from tomatoes and unrefined olive oil, with perhaps some shredded carrots added for natural sweetness." I'll be saying YES, next time Hubby asks "Pasta for dinner tonight?" and I won't be insiting on an alfredo sauce. The homemade tomato sauce will be good enough enough for me ~ after all it's good enough for Sophia!
because it contains omega fatty acids and significant amounts of Vitamin E and Vitamin K, it proves to have excellent hydrating and anti-aging properties. Extra virgin olive oil is worth the extra pennies. While other bottles of olive oil have been chemically processed, extra virgin olive oil is in its purest form with the most health benefits.
She still looks divine...
ReplyDeleteI love extra virgin olive oil,
I once used it pass some gallstones.
And some say you can also use it as you use a lotion for your skin.
I used to do that, I'm going to start again!

I would LOVE to look like Sophia in my 70s!! I really like the new pastas with more vitamins, Omegas, and fiber...then I do not feel so much like I am cheating on my diet!! I would toss in some onions and garlic with those tomatoes! Good post!!
ReplyDeleteShe is one of my biggest Icons. Thanks for posting, I don't see enough of her around. She looks amazing at her age! xoxxo

Thanks for sharing this, and I agree... Sophia Loren's gorgeous! I'm willing to try most anything that's proven successful for her.

Popping in from a Blog Hop, I have used Olive Oil on my skin since I was a child. I actually add a few drops to my bath too.

Well, I'll be buying olive oil by the gallons if I can look like that at 76! I'm sure great genes and good living (no preservatives in those homemade Italian meals) have a lot to do with it, too. Ms. Loren is amazing - great post!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the healthy hint and showcasing a lovely lady. I have always thought she was a true beauty.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip! If I could only manage to keep looking as good as Sophia Loren... Oh and I tried out the Cleopatra milk bath and the Marie Antoinette face mask you posted earlier, it was heavvven!!! :D Hope you are having a fabulous day & wishing you a great Easter to come!
ReplyDeleteI love olive oil, pasta, and Sophia...but am not sure about a bath with olive oil ! I do hear it is wonderful for your hair, too...
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend, and I hope those flurries go away for good!

I have always admired Sophia Loren - such a beautiful woman. When using olive oil in my baking and cooking, I always rub it into my hands too. During the winter I sometimes use it as a moisturizer. On the rare occasions I get to take a bath, I do add a few drops to my bath and I have also used it after getting a sunburn. Love olive oil!

Tracy
I agree that even without photoshop , she has fabulous bones and a wonderful face .. but she also has serious sun damage on her body and that I believe is one of the worst things that a person can do to their skin. Stay out of the sun.
ReplyDeleteAll the olive oil baths in the world won't help if you tan.
Down here in Suntan land :) they are selling Dove Moisturizer with oil. I just bought some today..the olive oil in the tub sounds a bit hazardous lol.
love olives!!!
ReplyDeletethose sound like two life choices i can live with! heck, i'd be happy to look half as good as she does when i'm 76!
ReplyDeleteDearest Celia,
ReplyDeleteVirgin olive oil is our household staple. Great for our health indeed. Thanks for bringing this out in a post. Sophia is drop-dead-gorgeous...
Hope you have a Happy Easter Season.
Lots of love,
Mariette
Since moving to Spain, olive oil has become my new best friend!
ReplyDeleteWell I was going to put milk in my bath, but maybe now I'll try olive oil...who knew ?

Hi sweet friend! What a great post! I love this! I actually knew that Sophia uses olive oil in her bath. I've tried too :) I've read that she also eats two spoons of olive oil every day. Who doesn't want to look like her? I need to go and get my oil...Have a great Easter!!!

ReplyDeleteSomehow I think I'll need more than pasta and olive oil to end up looking like Sophia ... What a shame she didn't mention eating chocolate or drinking champagne!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!!

I love pasta with a red sauce! I love the flavor olive oil adds, to - but in my bath? Sounds intriguing!
ReplyDeleteLoved reading about Sophia! Amazing all the benefits of olive oil. I'm a new follower from the blog hop - Come visit! http://www.lorihairston.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI have done this and vit. E oil both, they really do both help the skin and are sooooo much less expensive than the bath products on the market. I usually don't care for the taste of warm tomatoes, but when we make our own sauce with a varity of heirloom and cherry tomatoes from our garden its amazing! yummmmm!!!!
ReplyDeleteShe looks amazing! Your newest follower through the blog hop
