"When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look
so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which
has been opened for us." ~ Helen Keller
I was recently reminded of this quote, as I looked at the doors in life that are no longer open for me. Such as the doctors highly recommending, that it would not be a good idea for me to carry a child, with all that my body has gone through. So the hope that Mr. G and I would have our own child became very slim. We are exploring adoption and gestational surrogacy (as we have 5 embroy).
So busy was I, looking at the “no longer”that I hadn’t stopped to think about the wonderful gifts I had been given to celebrate the end of October. My friend L gave birth to her fourth son, who would be named Ozwyn, born October 29th, 2009. The birth of her precious blessing would be my gift for celebration at the end of October. A month later just as I was going in for more accident related surgery she said “Hmm you better come back out of that surgery, if you are going to be Ozwyn’s Godmother”!
This year I can honestly say it was this little angel’s first birthday celebration that made me stop looking at the closed doors of happiness. So let me share some moments:
Look, I'm only 1 year old today,
I had no say in the hat!
Busted ....
Oh its not open present time?
Are you sure? Look at my smile...
Now what? Uncle G. and Nanny, what are you putting on me?
There's a lamb on the loose!!!!
No it's me Ozwyn, Auntie HHL ~ I'm a lamb!!!
It's Birthday Cake time!!!
Thomas The Train...
Thomas The Train...
You can have the cup cakes.....
This is a cute monkey ... but of all the presents
I received ... guess what I liked best?
Did you guess....The boxes and wrapping paper!!
It's really hard work turning 1 years old!!
