Winter Has Arrived in the Countryside

This week-end certainly did look like winter at the HHL country home has arrived ...

The forgotten hammock now covered in a blanket a snow

Changing of the outdoor holiday and Christmas decor has been put off another week

Through the holidays and Christmas celebrations these urns were snow free ...
Now they have a Christmas feel to them.

Looking out from the breakfast area window the green grass that has been holding on ... finally covered in a winter blanket of snow.

No stopping for a hot chocolate break after doggie walks, this week-end.

This is what the last week-end of January is looking like around here ...

What is it looking like where you live?

  2. Dearest Celia,
No, we have not yet seen snow here... Today was sunny so you have enough light for doing things in the house. Stay warm and cozy inside!
    Hugs to you,

  3. We got a few more inches of snow on Friday. Tonight we are supposed to get freezing rain.

Seeing the beautiful white scenery is much better than the dreary, dull gray :)

  4. Weather can feel much more "Christmasy" when snow arrives in earnest. Very pretty.

  6. Beautiful photos. I wish we would get snow here; however, I'm ready for spring and blooming flowers, and all of the pretty colorful fashions.
Wishing you a fabulous week, mon ami! xoxo, B

  7. We've been lucky not to have too much snow this winter but our plants are missing their blanket of insulation. The patio set is beckoning even with the white stuff.

  9. Oh sweetheart, you know what it looks like here !
Trees in full leaf, flowers everywhere, spilling out of the window boxes , off of balconies, all over the parks and city. People on bicycles, skates and motos ...not to mention the skateboarders..None of them are careful with pedestrians, grumbles this old woman.
The a/c runs most days and all nights.
I like the a/c on at night, it blocks out any possible sounds from outside - the people who have no a/c so they sit outside and talk ..loudly .. until 3 am.
I look forward to a house in the woods where the birds are the noisiest neighbors :)
