It's a Doggie's Life!!!

When we first brought Gabbana home, we knew she was going to be trouble (in the cutest , possible ways). From day one she never coward, not even when spoken to in a stern voice ...she just looked at you bounced  and started a game of catch me if you can. Picture two adults and another Yorkie (Dolce) giving chase to this  petite ball of hair. Courageous and smart ... she quickly learned that only someone her size could fit under the sofa and behind it ... and whenever she has something like a sock or Dolce's toys you can bet she'll go to her  safe place.
Thankfully Dolce is a big boy now - a whole 3 years old and is adorably sweet... he tolerates gives in when  Gabbana is digging through his toy box, or takes naps in his cabin, and goes for his tail or legs. He does let her know who the boss is ... (and Gabbana being a girlie girl, lets him believe He is..lol)

For all her feistiness and bark, when it came to Stella (our Yellow lab) Gabbana would bark up a storm than runaway from Stella. Now that Gabbana is 5 months Stella is fair game with Gabbana.

Stella looks at her two pint size furbaby-siblings as both older sister and entertainment as they chase her around or climb on her with lots of paws and licks.
When it's outside playtime, Gabbana follows Stella around .....

paying attention to Stella's every move....

One of Stella's favourite things to do - is roll around on the grass....

No surprise that after 3 years Dolce also likes this past time...

as Dolce and Stella exchange paw tales ... Gabbana is in the background trying to figure out this rolling on the grass thing!... They are a joy to watch and bring much happiness to our lives and home.

  2. Your furbabies are so cute Celia. Our first little gal was a yorkie-poodle cross and she was so feminine. The male cockapoo we have now is like a bull in a china shop, especially through the gardens. I never thought about the leg raising thing with a male until it was too late and many of my plants have suffered!
Pets are as therapeutic to us as gardening, probably more so. I can imagine the joy three dogs bring you.

  3. Your doggies are so incredibly adorable, all of them. I love posts about dogs with accompanying photos. Gabbana sounds like a tornado in action, but she is super cute. I know how Stella must feel, my 3 chihuahuas are always around her. :)

  4. Dearest Celia,

What a lovely bundles of joy and love you show us here. Stella, as a protective big sister to those minis and cute Gabbana still trying out all things possible. But it is amazing how they do copy each other. Guess, trust and giving in to the alpha dog is key. Sure they make you laugh, they can be so naughty and outsmart us as their human parents. But it is oh so rewarding! People without pets don't know what love they're missing out on. Their loyalty is grand.
Hugs to you and enjoy your lovely gardens. Sending you love,
    Mariette

  5. I enjoyed the pictures of your precious furbabies! They give us so much joy and laughter. I hug my Gino every day and once in a while he'll steal a kiss to let me know he loves his momma. Stay well Celia and keep on enjoying your tea!!

  6. Aren't furbabies the best??? In our house, Laika (the big puppy) will follow Pepper (the Jack Russell mix) around and do whatever she does. Hours of enjoyment!

  9. They are so cute!
Julian is terrified of dogs...someone recently recommended we actually get one in order for him to get rid of this crazy fear. What do you think? I want a little dauschand (sp?)

  10. Oh she is so just adorable. I can imagine the other two whispering to each other, " that child, she is just never still" :)

  11. Susan, I know you weren't asking me but a dauschund would not be the dog of choice in my book. They can be nippy and temperamental. I would go for something larger and sweeter, a Golden Retriever might be the best Nanny dog there is :) My childhood pals were German Shepherds, they were nannies and guardians. My children had Standard Poodles to cuddle with. They are especially good because aside from being ridiculously smart, they are non-shedding non allergenic :)
