Welcome to the first Afternoon Tea of 2012 ... I'm so happy that you have clicked over for a visit.
During the busy time of the holidays, I combined my ATTEATUDE and Chocolate tea posts here at HHL. It was just going to be for the holiday season as I was getting very overwhelmed with keeping up with posting; But not only did I realize it was much easier writing/posting on one blog; Readers of HHL emailed to say they were really enjoying these posts, so for the next few months, I will continue to incorporate the two blogs here at HHL.
So...here we go,....

Now that all the holiday rushing around and entertaining, has come to a halt, it's time to start putting away the Christmas decor. Including this lovely Christmas teapot. So, while lounging the day away New Year's Day, Mr. G. and I used our Christmas teapot for the final time, until Christmas returns, 12 months from now.
Things sweet Christmas mugs will also be saying till next Christmas too!, after this tea.The sturdy mugs are by 222 Fifth and the pattern is Paisley Ornaments. The colours are much more vibrant than the photo shows.
To accompany our tea we indulged in some homemade white chocolate chip cookies, Angel P's nieces and nephew baked for us.
This is a better photo, you can see the white chocolate chunks! We were each given our own little bag, with accompanying gift tag.
I love this teapot, it really reflects the season with the snow covered pine-cones, and it's red, green, and white colour. The ceramic teapot is made in China by CR -Christmas Collection and is called "Old Saint Nick"
Of course the Red Cardinal, is a reminder that the garden and it's feathery friends are staying warm and out of sight.
The handle of the teapot is finished off with a grande bow!
Mr. G loves these Christmas mugs for their generous handle.
And this little guy is saying ... Happy New Year Everyone!!!
Thanking for visiting and taking the time to comment.

Hello dear Celia,

I love cardinals! I photographed one close up last year and kept it as my screensaver forever... Hope you have a fabulous 2012! XO Cindy
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful teapot and mugs! I, too, will be putting away all the Christmas decor. It's always sad to me that the season is over as Christmas is my favourite time of the year and I love relaxing by the tree, admiring it's golden lights. I found Bogie, one of our Frenchie's, gazing at it one night { fortunately, not in the I'm going to tear it up kind of way ;) }.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a magical and prosperous 2012, mon ami!
xoxo, B
Hi Celia
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling of putting away those treasured Christmas dishes and things; they're enjoyed so much during their short stay.
My collection of cardinal figurines, towels etc. I have in the kitchen are a tribute to one of my favourite birds. I have taken so many photos of the male and female and have to keep asking myself - how many pictures do I need?
Wishing you a happy new year.
Judith

Beautiful and elegant! Have a great 2012!
ReplyDeleteDearest Celia,
ReplyDeletePutting such pretty things up for another year, makes us a bit sentimental but there is a place for each season! This one has passed and we are all looking forward to what 2012 will bring us. Did you finish all the white chocolate chip cookies by now? They looked so yummy and what a sweet gift from nieces and nephew! They must have felt mighty proud doing this for you both.
It is freezing now -5°C as I write this and the wind is mean and cold. Sure a night for staying warmly tucked under the goose down duvet...
We're all blessed with a warm place and a good meal a day!
Love to you and enjoy the memories of this special Christmas season for a while to come...
Mariette
I love cardinals so I adore your teapot! Lovely Christmas tea (Yum cookies) and if you are at all like me ... I'm being slow at putting things away. I like all the twinkling lights and holiday color! Happy Tea Day and Happy New Year!

These past years in the public system have just about zapped me completely! Gotta get my creative intelligence back on and strut my stuff again!

Dearest Celia,
ReplyDeleteWhat a very pretty and charming Christmas teapot and mugs! And those cookies.., yum!
Thank you so very much for so generously and kindly gracing our blogs with your various lovely Tuesday tea party links. Thanks also for visiting our blogs time and time again and leaving sweet words of comment and encouragement with your participation for our Tuesday Tea's for our, 'Teapot And Tea Things Tuesday', as well as for my, 'Tuesday Tea For Two', weekly blog tea party.
Pam and I are going to very much miss you as we leave blog land for quite a long while. This is due to very important personal reasons that were unforseen; (even two weeks ago).
Dear Pam and I had a long and friendly conversation just two days ago. Upon my informing Pam that I needed to 'bow out gracefully', from blogland for the forseeable future, she requested that I also send this message of deepest gratitude and regret on her behalf also. As I bid you a fond farewell and as we both leave you and other very lovely fellow bloggers for the time being my friend.
Have blessed New Year in 2012!
Hugs and blessings from Wanda Lee, (and Pam; Pam is from her own, 'Breath Of Fresh Air', blog.)
I adore that teapot with the cardinal! They're my favorite bird - both the male and female are beautiful! I just read your "About Me." I'm embarrassed to say I hadn't read it sooner, but, oh my goodness, what a strong, brave woman you are and an inspiration! Thank you for sharing and for the reminder that life can change on a dime. Blessings to you!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cindy
