Putting My Best Face Forward ... Series Introduction

What I've been using ... and looking to update...

Are you feeling like me -  "your beauty products have started to fall short in their results" - And with all the information overload you end up sticking with what you are using and doing because it's all just too confusing? Well I'm right there with you! Though I have been pretty good about keeping up with cleansing my face each night and an AM and PM skincare routine I'm finding that my skin is looking a bit dull these days and not feeling like I would like it to.

Being in the city and getting out among people I'm ready to move past just mascara, eye-liner and lipstick when it comes to make-up. So I'm looking to up my look too ... But with all the products on the market and techniques where does one start? So I've decided to approach this as a novice and have gone in search of help and answers from some beauty experts.

Over the next few weeks I will be sharing my adventures as I explore various beauty services in Toronto, to get some expert advice on how to better care for my skin and up my look too. I hope that you will follow along with the "Putting My Best Face Forward" series and be inspired to seek out some professional beauty services where you live.

You are the curator of your life so live it luxuriously ,

  1. Oooo! I can't wait! One of my most fave things is skin care, beauty products, and the like. I research all the time to find what works, what doesn't, what is expensive hype and what isn't. I am looking forward to this new series!!

  3. I will wait for your reports in your new series. For me makeup is lipstick before I go out. Deep cleansing my skin is of interest to me; local salons charge one or two hundred dollars for one treatment. No way. Let me know if you figure out how to do that at home.

  5. Good idea! I too, find it difficult to venture out of my comfort zone with make-up, because some styles look good on others, but just don't seem to look good on me. Looking forward to reading your suggestions!

  6. Dearest Celia,
Winter in general is an enemy of our skin and hair; my hair gets static at times... like I'm high voltage!
My eyes have been going bare since Christmas as I got a nasty kind of Dermatomyositis, that turned my eyelids red and itchy, even crusty. Not a great feeling. So I skipped my mascara, eye liner and also the CHANEL VITALUMIÈRE AQUA out of fear it would worsen my condition.
But life goes on and I hope I will again be able to start using some of my eye makeup as I have to confess; I am addicted to and need for giving my otherwise pale eyes some expression. Believe it or not; 3 days before my Mom went to heaven when my brother used his iPhone to FaceTime with me, first things she said: 'What are your eyes looking pale...?!' She had not seen me since end of February, 2014. That struck me really hard, if she in her condition did notice; wow.
    Sending you hugs,
    Mariette
