I can't believe its been a year since my little trembling fingers started clicking on the keyboard in hopes of trying to release the frustration filled days that had become my life and to help with rebuilding my writing and expression skills.
When I first started blogging March 1, 2010 ~ I had no idea/belief that a year later I would still be clicking away on my keyboard. Nor had I imagined the impact that blogging would have on me. Looking back over this past year, I can say without a doubt that blogging saved me (there were some very dark times that I did not share, perhaps one day).
I may not have realized the power of BlogLand but my Angels sure did ~ they always seemed to connect me with just the right BlogFriend who was writing about something that I needed to read. Or sometimes I found myself sharing more about me than I had expected ~ and then I would get a comment or email from someone saying how much that post had made a positive difference to them.
This past year BlogLand has reached and touched me, when psychologists failed; given me encouragement and support, when family and friends could not; forced me to look at the half full glass, when all I could see was emptiness; but most of all it has inspired me to give back, stay postive, stick with something and the desire to move forward.
"Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others" 1 Peter 4:10
P.S. I would like to thank Mr. G. for being the one to remember that I started blogging a year ago! and for encouraging me to write when I can't even get my butt out of bed (he literally brings my lap top upstairs, sets it up on the bed and keeps checking until I start clicking on the key board.)
You can read my first post My Story ... It All Starts Somewhere here

Awesome on reaching the one year mark. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations of your first year of blogging. I hear you... blogging is very therapeutic, as is reading other blogs! I keep two of them.. one for fun and one, of course, about my husband's cancer fight. Have a happy Spiritual Sunday, and a wonderful first day of spring!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your blogiversary honey! Have a great weekend. Kori xoxo

And when I was considering blogging, I found your blog and was inspired and hoped that I could manage to touch peoples hearts the way you do.
ReplyDeleteHappy first year, darling ..
C and of course, Pup
Dearest Celia, Mr. G and Dolce,
ReplyDeleteWell, that's quite a milestone you've reached. Indeed, if it were not those invisible wings that carry us through at times, we'd be sliding off to never-land.
You certainly have inspired me tremendously and now that we have each our own special angel; we're bonded in a special way. Like your photo with the wings in the clouds... hard to look beyond what you see but we must trust it will be okay. Free and strong enough to soar the inviting blue skies.
Love you and keep at it; all of you together. None of us can travel this difficult road alone, we owe it to those that love us most and are near us when we're falling from the skies...
Hugs,
Mariette
This is such a sweet post. I just started my blog as an outlet to an often frustrating time in college and I hope it does as much for me as it does for you.
ReplyDeleteHope your weekend was relaxing

There are so many different reasons that we all start to write our blogs .. the result though seems to be universal.. We reach out to each other and have a support network.
ReplyDeleteI wish i had never deleted my original blog as i kind of lost the swing of it... but slowly I will be back xx
I hope you continue
Dear HHL, what a wonderful post. You have such a wonderful way of writing, and I am so pleased Mr G recognised that in you every time he brought your laptop to your bed.Your writing, your bravery, your strong-will and determination all certainly inspire me, and before you know it we will be celebrating your 2nd blog anniversary ;-)
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary Sweetheart!
Happy Blog anniversary! I read so many blogs but yours has always been one of my favourites because you make me feel as if I have been on this journey with you.
ReplyDeleteI have found that blogging has opened the doors to many friendships and you have been someone whose encouragement has kept me writing even when I felt I was losing faith in myself.
Thank you for being there and thank you Mr G for ensuring that you are there :)
What a great looking blog!

ReplyDeleteI'd never wish what you've gone through on you or anyone, but I'm thankful it's brought you to us. There's a beauty in your soul that words fail to capture, you're an inspiration and I feel truly blessed to know and have met you. I'd love to share your story with my readers.
ReplyDeleteA huge amount of respect to G for all he's done, what an amazing human being.
Much love to both of you always.

Congratulations on reaching the 1 year mark. Fabulous and Fantastic HHLxoxo
ReplyDeleteBlogging is an incredible thing, isn't it? You meet people who sympathize, empathize, have the right thing to say to you to make you feel better, AND who tell you like it is!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your one year blogiversary! I'm glad you're still at it. I was knocked off my high heels, too.. although not quite as traumatically, and you inspire me. I saw your name on the blog hop list, and thought I'd say hi, although I already follow. I'm sorry that I'm often too lazy to comment.

Hi HHL,
ReplyDeleteCongratulations of your 1 year blogging anniversary. Your writing inspires and encourages me.
Life at times, has taken an unexpected turn in my journey and I've discovered that the road is no longed paved, but you and others have helped me focus on trust and faith in the Lord; rather than the circumstances I face.
Blessings and peace.

Hi, I am your newest follower. I found you through Mondays blog hop and I look forward to coming back. I am new to all this blogging and hopping so it really helps me out if you can come and visit me. Congrats on your one year! I hope some day I will get there as well. I fell off my high heels years ago :) will be back soon to read more of your story.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it's just been a year. It seems I've known you longer and we're old friends. :) I attribute this to your openness and honest writing. I wonder how we're guided sometimes and your writings always bring that home to me. You've been a source of joy and inspiration and I know a year from now you will be further amazed where you have taken yourself, with divine help and all on your own. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy, happy blogging anniversary.
xoxo

Wow, you are wonderful. The about me section and this post, speak to your strength as a person. I look forward to reading about your journey. I'm new to blogging, so please stop by!
ReplyDeleteI stopped by from Totally Tuesday blog hop and just went to read your first post. My father had a massive stroke 11 years ago and lost his former self as well (and we lost that person too). But of course over time he has found his way...not how he would have before, but a way nonetheless. It sounds like you have done the same. I'm so glad that your blog has helped you. I think there is something to be said for feedback from people who can respond objectively to what you say, not having the same emotional ties as those who know and love you so much.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your blogging anniversary!
First I want to say congrats on your first year of blogging. I went back and read your story and you truly are an inspiration! I will definitely be coming back to read more of your blog. Much love. I am a new follower. If you get a chance please visit my blog www.mommywantstoread.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteHappy one year! So great that you have an encouraging Mister! Mine just rolls his eyes when I pull out the laptop now...haha! Not really but he jokes about it being a permanent appendage.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week!
XO
I can sure identify with this. I've been blogging for over 3 years now and had no idea what a blessing it would be in my life. I started rather reluctantly, but am quite addicted now. I think it is a good addiction though.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your heart.
Blessings,
Charlotte
Thanks for coming by my blog and congrats on your one year! I am going to follow along now that I have found you.
ReplyDeleteHappy Blogaversary,
ReplyDeleteThere is something about blogging that only another blogger can relate to. It is so rewarding and it's like having another life in a Virtual world filled with real, inspiring and encouraging people. A community of uplifting comments and beautiful blogs.
Karen
Oh happy blogging anniversary...
ReplyDeleteI love it here in your blog,
I'm your newest follower ♥
Congratulations on your One Year Blogiversary! I am very glad you began blogging! The day I found your blog I went back through your archives to start from the beginning. I have been so very touched and inspired by you over the past year. From what you have shared about Mr. G over the past year, he sounds like an amazing person too.
ReplyDeleteSending sunshine your way!
Hugs,
Tracy
Happy Anniversary! So glad you are back from your break! I, too , have taken several little breaks from my blog once in a while, just to regroup my thoughts and just spend time reading other blogs for insiration and supporting them, too. Before blogging, it seemed like the only real positive energy I was getting in my life was my occassional Oprah thoughtful episode...now all I have to do is open my email and get encouragement from my new friends. I think it has even made me reaccess my non-blog friendships.
ReplyDeleteYour blog has certainly been a wonderful and inspirational place for me this year!
