Autumn to Winter and The Other Side of Thin Update

Welcome to Over a Cup of Tea with Celia M. - #8

Autumn is starting to give way to the gloomy days and reminding us that winter and it's really cold days are not far behind. This day certainly felt more like winter than mid November. Looking out the kitchen window the trees are now bare and the gardens are looking grayish.

Inside the Christmas Cactus is blooming its bright red colour ...

To help ward off the chill this green ginger tea from TAZO was beckoning to be enjoyed.

To enjoy our tea I'm using a teacup and plate duo. It's stamped J.E. Caldwell & Co. Philadelphia and above that is a stamp that reads La Cloche - with the words French on one ribbon tip and China on the other. above that is a bell with T.V. and above that Limoges.
The teacup sits perfectly on the plate's indent leaving plenty of room for some goodies.

With Today's tea some mini croissants ...

I recently received an email with a question about how I was doing with my weight. The reader had read a post from my The Other Side of Thin Series - part One which I wrote in April - 2012. At that time I was weighing in at 145 lbs. and by June 2012 I was weighing in at 153 lbs. - I managed to get my weight down to 140 lbs by September 2012 and wrote about it here - Moving the Scale -The Other Side of Thin Series - where I shared tips on maintaining a healthy eating lifestyle. I'm happy to report that I did go on to loose an additional 10 lbs. - and have been maintaining my weight between 130 - 133 lbs. for almost 10 months.
I'm currently working on the next 10 lbs. hoping to get down to 120 lbs.

You can read Part Two and Part Three .

What tips can you share that have worked
for you in loosing the last 10 lbs. ?

Stay warm...

Forgiveness ... and a Cup of Tea

If we were sitting and sharing a cup of tea today I would let you know that the winners of my revised blog launch were participants: 1, 6. 17 - as selected by random.org (see end of post for winner names). and I would show you my Marie Antoinette teacup from Versailles.

I would also share one of my steps in creating myself .... Forgiveness. I needed to forgive the guy who was driving the car that struck me down and changed my life as I knew it. I didn't have to tell him, but I had to in my heart forgive him ~ not for him but for myself. Forgiving released me from the internal anger, hurt ~ that I didn't even realize I was carry around.

At some point in your life someone will do something or something will happen, that will leave you shattered. The last thing you will be thinking of is "forgiving" the person(s) [you feel are] responsible for your PAIN!

Forgiveness doesn't mean what happen was OK, and it doesn't mean you have to welcome the person(s) [back] into your life. It just means you have made peace with the pain, and are able to let it go.

Sometimes things happen to us when we are young. This hurt hides itself in the deepest darkest corners of our minds. We may not always recall it ... but it remains there, keeping us from fully living. Until we choose to longer remain victim to what happen to us ... we can we move forward and THRIVE!

Forgiveness frees us from the past.

As you sit and sip your cup of tea with me today ...
Take a moment ... think of someone who has hurt you and forgive the hurt they have caused you. Do this not for them ... [they don't need to know that you have forgiven their actions]... Do it for you!

Today I'm sharing with you my Marie Antoinette teacup which I purchased at Versailles on my 2010 trip to Paris with Mr. G.

Thank you to everyone who participated and your sweet comments and support of the revised High Heeled Life ... are you living yours? blog.

Congratulations...

A Nutcracker Christmas ~ and ~ Christmas GIVE AWAY

We have been working hard at the HHL country home, getting ready for Christmas and the celebrations of the season. This year is the first Christmas in 5 years that I am looking forward to. With my love of ballet and memories of going to see the Nutcracker Ballet on my birthday... The Nutcracker theme was perfect for our home.

Trying to bring some tradition back into the celebration of Christmas, we choose to not add the Angel to the top of tree during Advent. Instead on Christmas eve we will set the Angel in place at the top of the tree and light it's candles.

A pretty ballerina dances about....

ballet slippers ...

Clara and her Nutcracker gift ...

Christmas horse....

The Mouse King

Our guests are greeted by a nature scene inspired from our property..

Little Dolce, checking out the gifts under the tree... woofing that some be for him...

This is a special Nativity that is dear to Mr. G's heart and we place out each year.

Notice the crèche is empty ... it will remain empty until midnight Christmas eve...
The reason for Christmas celebration!!!

Since the Christmas season is for giving ... What better time

 to host a GIVE AWAY!!
