7 Easy Tips to add bliss to your life...

1. Kick Start your day
Start your day with a glass of warm water, juice of 1/2 lemon. To change things up I may add a teaspoon of raw honey or ginger or 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper. I have also been known to add all ingredients at once. 

2. Enjoy a Luxurious Bath 

Teat yourself to a weekly bath with pampering items such as Laura Mercier bath products. I create a luxurious and relaxing setting by adding soothing music, fragrant candle, white plush towels, and a white bathrobe I use only for my special bath time.

3. Slow down in your day ...

Recharge over daily afternoon tea. For the past few years I have made it a point to enjoy a cup of tea in my day. Boil the water, wait for the tea to steep (use a teapot) and savor it from a china teacup.  

4. Relax your mind

With the constant demands of being connected 24/7 technology that is meant to help us is actually robbing us of our much needed time to just be and give our mind time to relax and recharge. I start and often finish my day with  meditation. Some sittings I will mediate for 10 minutes and others I manage 30 minutes - what is important is that you take time to be in the moment.

5. Move your body

It's important to help the flow of energy through our body. Whether it's a walk around the block, or a walk through the mall ... just move for at least 30 minutes each day. I Practice hatha yoga 2-3 times per week and have been doing barre at least once a week. With the warm weather upon us getting out in the garden is another great way to move your body.

6. Add veggies/fruits to every meal

 If you are like me eating my daily requirement of fruits and veggies can be a challenge. BUT, I have been working at adding more of both into my daily eating and it is showing in how my body functions and how my hair and skin looks and feels. One way I add them is my drinking smoothies that are fruit and veggie based, and by ensuring I eat either a piece of fruit or vegetable with each meal.

7. Give Back

The joy and inner peace that comes with giving to help others is amazing. I volunteer my time with Canadian Blood Services and BIST (Brain Injury Society of Toronto) and I can't begin to put into words that warmth I feel by helping others.

  1. I try to start my day with some quiet time with God, reading the Bible then meditating on what I read. Makes the whole day go more smoothly! There are times like now that I can sit on the porch in my rocker and watch the calves running, jumping and playing in the field - gives me rest and laughter. Your afternoon tea advice prompted me to stop sometime during the day and take time to just sit, sipping tea, enjoying my beautiful tea cups and pots, and relaxing my mind. You have inspired me in so many ways and helped me change my life for the better.

    Oh, pure bliss is also the time you can be outdoors in the garden, pulling some weeds and listening to the birds and sounds around you. Feeling the sun warm your body and mind and the fur babies acting happy for joining them outdoors. If you sit down for a tea after such time; it is pure BLISS!

  5. Secret? Both of our upstairs showers are having caulking issues...so I've been semi-forced to have baths. I LOVE IT! So much more relaxing as it takes just that little bit longer. Great advice!
