Getting Outside with a Cup of Tea

Welcome to the 4th installment of in a series of 6 ~ 30 Minutes for you with a cup of tea. There is something most therapeutic about connecting with nature.

One of my favourite ways to enjoy my 30 minutes with a cup of tea is to find a spot in our gardens, pour a cup of tea and sit among nature recharging.

A balcony with some flowers is just as peaceful and relaxing.

If you don't live in the country,  suburbia, or have a balcony, no problem...

A park in the city can be a fabulous place to go and sit back and enjoy nature...

If you are really lucky your park will have a water feature to sit by...

No matter whether you live in the country, suburbia, or  the city ~ there are many ways to carve out a little nature escape. Taking your china teacup and saucer, kettle, and teapot may not be a practical option. Here are some travelling tea items that I like to use.

Enjoying an afternoon of writing in the garden I usually pack up a basket with all the essentials including a Kanteen to keep my tea hot - note you will need a towel to easily and safely manage the Kanteen.

But when I'm taking 30 minutes for me - no computer writing...
Just a cup of tea and a treat while I sit back and enjoy.

This is a great on-the-go tea mug, it has a built in infuser
which retracts easily so as to not over steep your tea.
My sister gifted me one of these and sometimes I even take it on drives and out to the garden.

When was the last time you enjoyed 30 minutes in nature?

This is the 4th in a series of 6 ~ Are You worth 30 Minutes in your day .

  1. Hello Celia,
Your series on tea is fab! I love this post especially as I feel the same way. Nature is healing. It feels good to be outdoors. Seeing the greens of grass and trees along with the lovely blue sky...birds singing...flowers blooming...squirrels scampering.... all helps us to connect. I love that you pack up all you need and go out side to enjoy your tea! So rejuvenating.
Thank you for your lovely positive post : )
    hugs,
    Terri

  2. Dearest Celia,
We are looking forward to having our balcony done and ready to sit there for tea under the umbrella. Today it is a wet day, just had to turn the lights on for a heavy thunderstorm.
Yesterday was also a wet day but in a different way. Tonight I will post about the loss of our Sacha girl.
    Hugs,
    Mariette

  3. Oooh! The minute the sun is out I go scampering out like a wild puppy. However, the weather has been so erratic that it's not been possible. Tomorrow they are promising 28ÂșC-if they are right I will be in my garden. Once I get outside I can't even read. I just want to sit there and enjoy the silence. It's the ONLY time I really slow-down. I don't even switch off if I am at the beach, but my garden is a different story altogether.
Have a lovely week C xx

  4. What a lovely post! Is it bad that I want a bueno bar more than the tea though?

  5. Celia, thank you for sharing your wonderful series. I love being out of doors this time of year. Nature always inspires me. I don't have a garden any longer but I do enjoy sitting on a bench in the park or picnicing at the beach. I am so thankful that I live in a part of the world where we always have clean fresh air to breathe and the water all around us. So happy you could join me for tea this week. Take care and Happy Summer!

    Blessings,
    Sandi

  10. Do you want to explain to me how it is that every single time I come here, I end up wanting to purchase something? I'm googling Kanteen now! I love this series - just reading it makes me peaceful!! I am incorporating the 30 minutes into my day and it has helped tremendously. Sometimes I sit out by the swimming pool because the recirculating jets make a bubbling sound that is so soothing. I am also going to get more flowers around the deck, patio, porch - you inspire me. (Alpha Hubby says you inspire me to spend money but he's not unhappy since nice things happen!)

  11. What a great post and I love the scenery with the flowers and the balcony. Yesterday I took a walk down by the lake and it was so relaxing. I need to take more time to enjoy tea too, I usually have only tried Earl Grey.
