Afternoon Tea at Three

I'm so happy you were able to stop by today, I have tea ready for us.

The drizzly rain has made it quite damp and gloomy outside today, it's starting to feel more like winter than autumn. Bentley's Pomegranate Tea will be perfect (a blend of Chinese and Indian black teas with a pomegranate flavor) for taking the chill off our bones.

I think the orange band around the upper portion of the teacup - inside and outside, and along the saucer  with a touch of gold along the edges is the perfect back drop for the gorgeous floral swag. The hand crafted  details are brilliant.
The bottom of the teacup reads as follows:
Royal Albert - arched over a crown- with the words - Crown China - arched below the crown.
England and the word "Bristol" below the above.
there is also the numbers 8026 (or could be a 1) above Royal Albert and a B in hand script inside the edge of the teacup's pedestal
Smiling Harvest Angel ... reminding us to be thankful for all our blessings.
Some red velvet cake with crumbly cream cheese topping to keep our sweet tooth satisfied,  I'd like to say I made it myself ... but no... it came via one of our local bakeries in town, but it is yummy.

Tea is finished steeping ... I'm happy to pour you a cup.

We have been fortunate to see deer in the back often this autumn, but not today since it's raining, they are certainly bed down, trying to keep dry, somewhere in the forest. So we'll have to make do with this beautiful scenery on our harvest china - The Victorian English Pottery - by Edward Challinar.
Looking outside, today, grey and nothing is stirring in the rain.

It's been wonderful sharing tea with you today, please come by again.

  6. Dearest Celia,
Oh, this is so warm so friendly for having a special and hot tea with FRIENDS! Sure, I will share more often with you but you promise to come to our home too. Still can't get over the fact that last year we were SO close to your place while at the wedding. But no time and we had no car... Who knows; one day we manage to visit in person! It would really be lovely.
Today is not too bad but the weather goes up and down a lot and it made me sick. Needed to get on antibiotics again for getting rid of a nasty infection. But I feel a lot better already.
Hugs to you both from the two of us,
    Mariette

  8. Always nice to pop over and have tea with you Celia, your teacup is pretty. It was a dreary day today, wasn't it? I was at a card class having a good time with friends so it didn't affect me much.

  10. Dear Celia,
You have such a beautiful view out your window. My goodness, your tea party looks lovely. wish I were sitting there with you. I love, love, love the dinner plate with the deer...and your beautiful teacup and saucer. How are your little fur-babies doing??? We are getting snow here tonight. Hopefully your babies have warm winter jackets! Cleo has been keeping me company in my cozy and warm office upstairs tonight. I spend a great deal of time in this little room during the winter because our house is cold. Very high ceiling and 150 year old stained glass windows and doors were made for beauty rather than function. lol.
    Stay warm and healthy.
    xoxo.

  11. I am in love with you unusually shaped teapot! It is so pretty - what do you know about it? You inspire me so much. I am taking more time to enjoy my tea in beautiful cups, and to sip (not gulp) while loving what I see out the window. We're at the beach now so I have a wonderful wildly rough ocean outside! Love your tea posts so much!

Red Velvet cake with cream cheese icing is a wonderful tasting treat and loved by my husband and I. Your Royal Albert "Bristol" pattern cup and saucer is just beautiful with the orange and gold with pretty panels. The view out the window is lovely!
