Wow ... how time flies! It feels like only yesterday I was in my 30s living a great life in Toronto! I was living the dream ... great friends, amazing corporate career, and a lifestyle that I enjoyed and loved! I was on track for the fabulous 40s ... then in a blink of an eye - as long time readers of this blog already know - life as I knew it and planned, changed without warning (you can read about it here if you are new to the blog). One thing I have learned, life is not made up of just one event or decade in life. It's an accumulation of events, experiences and time - some good and some not so good. As I look back over the years I am amazed at all that has been packed into the past 49 years.
Though my forties did not turn out as planned - my forties saw this city gal: survive when doctors held little to no hope she would; move to the countryside; experience the longest relationship with a significant other (7 years and counting); become mama to 3 adorable furbabies; fall apart physically and emotionally and bounce back again, and again.
As I begin the journey of stepping into 50, December 2015, I am stronger physically and emotionally; I'm more confident than I could have ever imagined in my 30s; I am finding balance in life; I am ready to take over the pen and be the author of my life!
"They" say - 50 is the new 30 - so I'm looking forward to the journey and writing the most exciting chapters of my life yet!!! I hope you will continue to come along on my journey as I continue to share about healthy living, fashion, beauty, travel and everything that helps me live a High Heeled Life luxuriously balanced!
Let the count down to 50 begin!

Well you certainly are in good company C, and have SO much to be proud of in terms of your personal achievements. Isn't that what it's all about? Looking back over your shoulder and smiling at how far you have come xx
ReplyDeleteOhhh Celia we have something in common, but I will beat you to the punch in April! 1965 was certainly a good vintage :). 50 is definitely not what it used to be, but I can't say I am thrilled.... I just keep telling myself that in 10 years I will be wishing I were turning 50. You must share what your plans are! My family wants to do it up BIG but NOT ME! Under the radar is more my thinking. lol!
ReplyDeleteCheers to a fabulous year,
xo,
Nathalie
Dearest Celia,
ReplyDeleteYou're still very young and young at heart and a positive thinker; most of the time... let's just be honest as that's about myself too!
If we compare our lives to that of our Grandparents and before, we live in luxury and no matter what struggles we face, still so much better off than they were back than.
Sending you blessings for a happy and successful 2015!
Hugs,
Mariette
