One Pair of Jeans - 3 Outfits

Spending more time at our city home (and it's significant smaller closets) has been a great kick start (not by choice) to my wardrobe simplification. Especially since the renovations in the upstairs bedrooms is currently underway - and Mr. G. and I are having to share a closet that is designed for one (which is really a rolling rack).

Deciding to end 2013 and begin 2014 in the city I decided to bring only 2 pairs of jeans. One pair being my straight leg Miss Me jeans. To maximize space in my week-ender bag I decided to wear them down to the city house with my light brown wool Dolce and Gabbana sweater.
This ribbon and glass leaf pendant were a gift from my Frenchie friend Victoria - I'm amazed how many times I actually reach for it. Leave to a born in France gal to pick the perfect accessory.

For my feet I slipped on my Michael Kors booties from a few seasons ago.

A few days later .... it was New Year's Eve ...and again I reached for my Miss Me jeans to ring in the new year at a friend's home. And created a new outfit by wearing a blue wool blend sweater; accessories - black cord and metal pendant a gift from Angel P's mom from her trip to Vancouver; a protection-eye bead bracelet from a Turkish market my friend Janice brought back from her trip for me; blue wool scarf with white pinstripes- bday gift from friend Victoria; Tiffany charm bracelet; Hermes H-buckle belt and Cartier Tank Francaise watch - thank you Mr. G. for such a fabulous and perferct bday gift.

New Year's Day ... I decided to wear the Miss Me jeans again. This time I paired them with a brown Ralph Lauren sweater; a leopard and equestrian print scarf; for accessories - Tiffany charm bracelet; Cartier tank watch; a protection-eye bead bracelet; Coach bangle bracelet; brown Gucci sunglasses; and Burberry cap.

What item in your wardrobe do you get the most wear out of?

Hugs,

  1. Dearest Celia,
What a lovely outfit you put together; you looked dashing and surely dressed smart all the way. Making do with closet space is one but also for feeling comfy and warm in winter is important.
Funny, I too wear often my Tiffany bracelet with oval charm of American Flag to which Pieter gifted me a necklace with a heart charm. My friend Mariëlle gifted me a lovely silver Dutch guilder watch (genial way for creating a dial plate like that!) to which Pieter again gifted me a perfect silver metal wristband. Dear friends know what to pick for completing some of our outfits and probably that's why we wear them often. Jeans are definitely my most worn items in my wardrobe. Since we no longer have to dress for business, skirts are far less worn. Sweaters really depend on the weather but for tomorrow I will lay out my heaviest and longest sweater as it is bitter cold with mean wind... that and my long riding boots from Chanel with their buttons on the side. They keep me toasty warm and they are so comfy.
Lovely post in all and so glad you get to stay in the city for winter time when the gardens no longer request a hand... Enjoy it and stay cozy with your fur babies.
Hugs and blessings for a lovely year ahead in which all projects will come to an end I hope for you and us...
    Mariette

  2. I like your different looks with only a few items of clothing and especially that scarf and the leaf pendant. It goes with my word for the year, Simplify.

  3. I love the looks you put together. I tend to get the most wear out of jeans and blazers. It is versatile and can be very chic when worn with a great pair of heels and a nice handbag.

  11. Love those boots! Isn't it fun in a way how creative you are forced to get when you have minimize your wardrobe? I moved into a small apartment about a year ago and I love it but I hate the lack of space for clothes! (Though I think I've started just to learn how to organize and hide them -really- well so that I can have more!)
