7 Easy Steps to Deep Cleaning Your Face
1. Cleanse your face using your regular face cleansing product. Gently pat your face leaving it a little damp.
2. Fill a large bowl with very hot water and add a couple drops of essential oil (see chart below)
3. Place a towel over your head an lean over bowl with your eyes closed - for about 10 minutes (setting a timer allows you to relax and not worry about checking time). Gently pat your face dry.
4. Apply a warm moist face-cloth over your face for about 30 seconds, leaving the face moisten.
5. Apply a store bought facial mask for your skin type leave on for 10-15 minutes. You may like to try the recipe for Marie Antoinette's honey facial mask found here.
6. Gently remove face mask with a cool wet face cloth. Once mask is completely removed - soak a clean face cloth in very cold water and apply to face. Leave on face for about 1 minute. Gently pat face dry.
7. Apply your facial moisturizer.

Celia, your advice is really great. . . the post you had on dry brushing I found to be interesting enough to buy and try it myself. Over a week later, I don't think my skin has felt and looked this good in ages. Especially following the method of starting at the feet, going upwards. Oh my! It has really helped my circulation, which is a bonus benefit! Hard to believe, but from the first use, I noticed a difference. I have to thank you for sharing this. I thought I knew how to exfoliate, but your tips have greatly improved the experience. I will certainly try the facial, now. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteOoooh! I must say I haven't done a really good facial for a long time. Just noted down the oils I should use for my skin and will definitely give it a go. Love your new profile picture too xx
ReplyDeleteI love a good facial. I enjoy slathering my face with grape seed oil, a good EV olive oil, or my fave, almond oil, when steaming. I love unprocessed raw honey w/an egg white mixed in as a masque. I prefer using the freshest ingredients possible and nothing that has chemicals in it.
ReplyDeleteDearest Celia,
ReplyDeleteLast week I did a good exfoliating and it feels great! If now only the weather would cooperate instead of this damp and wet, wet on and on. We´re back to fighting the water in the basement; like in February...
Hugs,
Mariette
I do a cleansing facial about once a week. Really love the dry body scrubbing for exfoliation and circulation!

You have reminded me that I haven't had a face mask for a while. I've just made a note of those essential oils for my combination skin type too. Interesting post - thank you!
