Week-end Stroll No. 3

This is what it looks like looking out the window, at our home in the country.

As heavy snow continues to blanket southern Ontario and the northeastern United States today, newscasters are telling us to brace for what could be the worst snowstorm in years. So like most people I'm staying inside and looking forward to catching up on some reading, enjoying some heart warming food, and of course some internet strolling (provided the storm does not cause power outages) visiting blog friends and favourite websites.

If the above scene wasn't encouragement enough to stay put...
Seeing our snow covered trucks, quickly made us give thanks that we did not need to venture out, in what is the worst snowstorm of winter (in almost 2 years). Prayers and thoughts to all those who have no choice but to be out in this weather ... May you arrive at work, school, medical appointment or any other event that you must get to today.

The cold weather outside is perfect for encouraging us to stay inside and perhaps take some much needed time to care for our-self.  If you missed

  1. Awwwh! Thank you so much Celia for the mention above; so appreciated and such a lovely surprise.
Love your snowy images and keeping warm collage. That Karen Millen jacket is gorgeous; I want it.
Snow is forecast for the UK also, so I will be checking out all your wonderful recommendations to keep me warm too.

  2. Dearest Celia,
Guess you did mention already the very best way to spend snow days. For sure I will not have to live through any of them down south, but I have lived them before!
Hugs to you and stay cozy and catch up; that's what I am doing too after my birthday and another day with friends out yesterday; in heavy rain. What a contrast with my sunny and warm birthday. That was a gift from heaven it seemed like.
    Hugs to you dear friend.

  3. We don't get much snow here so when it does, I grab my camera and capture as much beauty as possible! Untouched driveway, snow covered fields, confused cows - it's all good! Thanks to you I'm enjoying my tea times much better now. I'm making it an EVENT!

  4. Snow Days. I've forgotten about them. Stay inside with plenty to do, enjoy the scenery, don't drive unless it's an absolute MUST. These days are the reason you have all the cashmere & silk things, all the woolen things, and fleece. xx's

  5. Yup, that's what our yard looks like as well. I'm kinda loving it! We stayed put all day (kept the kids home) but Jules had a bd party locally at 5pm which I took him too. I took L's SUV which has super-duper snow tires so it was ok. Not great.
I am in love with that puffer!!

  6. Hello Celia
Like you, we've pretty much stayed in during the storm, although today is beautiful and sunny. Hubby was telling me he didn't have the snowblower out last year at all but it was a necessity after the 2 feet or so of snow we received.
