Springtime Rainy Day Essentials ~ What I Wore

As winter melts into spring there are THREE items that I find essential to weathering the rain and dampness.

1. Umbrella
An Umbrella is a must have for the rainy days of spring.
I have small to mid size ones that easily fit into my handbags. But it is my walking Pasotti Purple Dalhia umbrella that I often reach for on wet days.

2. Waterproof Footwear
Tall boots, mid-calf boots and slip on loafers in patent leather and rubber
offer versatility and keeping feet dry.

3. Rain-coat/jacket
Trench coats, jackets and vests made of waterproof or water-resistant fabric are perfect for keeping you dry, and enabling layering to keep you warm.

My knee length Pink Tartan trench  in soft grey and pink toned floral print on white background is versatile for casual and business attire. It rolls up and tucks into a small pouch that fits in my handbag making it perfect for traveling. Here I used it on my trip to Ottawa.

On this day rain was not in the forecast but there was still a slight chill in the air ... my Zara vest was the perfect choice to keep me cozy warm over my sweater. And my Burberry cap kept my head warm.

what I wore: umbrella - Pasotti; rain boots -  mid calf -Burberry, patent leather: Aquatalia by Marvin K; patent leather loafer - Tahari; trench coat - Pink Tartan; jacket - Burberry; vest - Zara; cap -Burberry; sunglasses - Gucci

What rainy day essentials help you stay dry and warm?

You are the curator of your life so make it luxurious,

  1. Pasotti Pasotti Pasotti! Ever since you first posted about your Pasotti umbrella, I have drooled over their website and the many beautiful umbrellas and parasols there. I am going to get one someday. I love the look of them. Rainy days? I don't go out in them; that's how I keep dry (ha ha). Oh OK, let's see, nope - got nothing! I run to my car in flip flops when I don't want to get my shoes wet. I use a cheapie umbrella and have them stashed everywhere - in vehicles, the house, Leland's office. I have a rain coat but often forget it. That's it!

  2. Dearest Celia,
    Lovely Pasotti umbrella in purple!
Your Burberry boots; jacket and cap are adorable!!! The rest too but maybe I'm too fond of Burberry. That cap with the Zara vest looks fabulous too.
It pours down heavily right now but it's late in the evening. It will be a wet Birthday for Pieter tomorrow; 80% chance for rain!
We stay home and as such we seldom walk or do anything in the rain as it rains seldom 'softly' here in Georgia. We have both our French Le Chameau Rain Boots and together with the Burberry Trench Coat that would do but we wear them mostly after the rain for a walk in muddy areas.
Living in Europe we wore our Trench Coat regularly!
    Sending you hugs and blessings.

  5. Yessss, girl! The water-proof footwear is key! I'm always jealous when someone has a perfectly matching rain coat for the rainy days. Mine is actually one my husband doesn't wear anymore. It's so ugly and I really need to find an affordable one to replace it with!

  7. Oh I want some rainboots but can't justify it since California has been in a drought and it rarely rains here. I love your collection of rain shoes.
