New Year Intentions, Manifesting and New Moon Intentions - 2014

As the day unfolds many people are setting their new year "RESOLUTIONS" list(s). Many of the items on this list have appeared year after year...Why is this? - resolutions do not provide an action plan to achieve and are often driven in negative wording.
Last year for 2013 I did not make resolutions - instead I created a plan of action. And WOW!!! I was amazed at my achievements - you can read them here.

Mid way through 2013 I started setting New Moon Intentions ... and was blown away by the results.

New moons are about new beginnings, planting seeds, and setting intentions. So, each month you are given the opportunity to re-enforce your current intentions and/or set new ones. Something magical is happening this is the first time in 19 years that there has been a new moon on the first day of the year. This year I have decided to set New Year Intentions! then with each new moon I can set intentions to help support and achieve my intentions or something even greater.

Take full advantage to focus on your New Year's Resolutions/Goals/Plans etc. and get some results, as this is an action packed new moon! The New Moon on January 1st, 2014 is great for supporting your intentions in the the following areas:
  • Future security
  • Handling responsibility
  • Reaching goals
  • Success / recognition
  • Management skills
  • Authority figures
  • Releasing controlling tendencies
Set your intentions now, in these last moments of 2013 and energize them on New Year’s when we have the first super moon of the year!

If you are not sure what resolutions, plans or intentions you would like to make, how about using the law of attraction to help you bring your dreams, wishes and desires to life. This year I'm starting a journal for my thoughts of what I want to create for 2014 and how I want to feel. As the year progresses I can look back and see what has begun to materialize.

Jim Carey and the Cheque.... watch this video on the power of intention.

Wishing all readers and visitors to my corner of BlogLand a very special 2014, may it be filled with all the wonderful events, adventures and things you wish for.

Hugs and Light,

Reflecting on 2013 ...

WOW!!! Only a few days left on the 2013 calender. Looking back over the days, weeks and months that made up 2013 I think this past year was one of major change and growth for me.
It all started with completing my training with Charles Virtue and Tina Marie Daly and becoming an Angel Certified Practitioner in January. That set the path for my energy healing learning journey for 2013.

I accomplished my 5km walk for BIST's Run Walk Roll 2013, with a little help from Dolce & Gabbana and their stroller!!!

I started my motivational speaking journey with BIST - Brain Injury Society of Toronto

I started to embrace Social Media (beyond blogging and email) as part of everyday life and even took a crash training course with my sister.

Honoured and blessed to be Godmother to one of my brother's twins - Michael.

I became a published author by being a featured author in the best selling series Adventures in Manifesting - Soulful Relationships edition.

Meditation became a part of my daily life...helping me to achieve mind, body, and spirit balance. This has enabled me to start living my (new) High Heeled Life!

Last year instead of making resolutions I created a PLAN ... using positive words/phrases and actions to re-enforce an action that will get me closer to the desired outcome. I added in the bubble the word/phrase which I would have normally used to create my resolution list as an example of the negative phrases/words we usually use to make resolutions. You can read the original PLAN post here.

So let's take a look at how the PLAN worked ...

Increase my physical activity: - Yes! ... yoga at home, doggie walks, and lots of garden work
Eat healthier: Almost a full yes ... need to work on the drinking more water
Write More: I was given the opportunity to be part of a fabulous book series - Adventures in Manifesting Soulful Relationships - which was released November 2013. You can order your copy here. I need to work on writing to family and friends more and focus on additional writing opportunities.
More social interaction with family and friends: I communicated and spent more time with family than in previous years (post accident) and I can't tell you how wonderful it was - Looking forward to seeing them more in 2014. For the most part of 2013 Mr. G. and I did make Sundays our day to spend time with each other and our furbabies. And I did more outings with friends.
Take care of myself: Meditation YES!!! - hair care YES!!!- Seasonal facials YES!!! regular mani/pedi YES!!! weekly home pampering and monthly stone massage need a little work.
Giving back: Spoke for BIST (Brain Injury Society of Toronto) YES!!!! ... Even though Allison did not walk for BIST this year I did ...YES!!! Sunnybrook fundraiser moved to 2014.

Overall the Plan was a great way to put my goals into action ... and to help me bring my dreams and thoughts to life!

What was your best part of 2013?

Wishing you a magical New Year's Eve and blessed 2014,

Taking a Little Break ...

Me Time by celiam-highheeledlife featuring Chopra Center

With all the festivities and hustle and bustle of the season it is easy to become stressed and exhausted. This is a time of giving and the one person who is often overlooked is SELF! Remember to give yourself a little time to rejuvenate; be it with a luxurious bath, reading, sipping a cup of tea (or other warm beverages or even a glass of bubbly), relaxing with a good book or just curling up under a cozy blanket and doing NOTHING!!!

How do you take a little "me time" during the chaos of the season?
Hugs,

What I Wore to OpportuniTEAS with Kate Linder & Friends

Recently while in the city (Toronto) I attended OpportuniTEAS with Kate Linder & Friends in support of the March of Dimes, held at The Fairmont Hotel. Proceeds from this event go to Conductive Education a program of March of Dimes Canada.

The weather was turning a little cooler on this day so layering was essential. I wore my Dolce and Gabbana black pant which is a staple in my wardrobe. I paired the pants with my white Burberry T and my Hermes scarf from a couple of seasons ago. I accessorized with my Hermes orange enamel bracelet, Christian Bernard watch, Hermes leather belt and a black glass bead  stretch bracelet I purchased from InPink  when I won a giveaway hosted by Ava Grace's Closet this past year. The final layer before my winter coat was a black jacket by Elie Tahari.
Almost inside ...

Tickets for the event ....

Kate Linder (top left) host brought along 3 of her cast-mates from Young & the Restless to help. Jess Walton (top right); Christian LeBlance (bottom left) and Marco Dapper (bottom right).

The Co-host was Toronto's own Leslie Roberts - who is the Anchor of The News Hour and Co-host of The Morning Show, Global Toronto.

Artists to the stars - Patti Denny & George Guzman (sitting at the right) were on hand to treat lucky auction bidder to a celebrity make-over.

Our host Kate and friends sat on stage and answered questions from the audience. It was interesting listening to how passionate the viewers of The Young and the Restless are - as they asked about the various stories lines on this day time soap that celebrates 25 years.

The tablesetting for attendees was done in white... with a white rose petal table table cloth.

We were able to choose from a selection of fine Fairmont teas....

A surprise .... as this young lady spoke I realized she was the daughter a new friend I had meant earlier in the year when I completed my Angel Practitioner training with Charles Virtue (son of Doreen Virtue). Ashleigh is a brilliant soul and her question was to Marco - if he was single. Since he was - she made a good case since she too is single that they should meet up.
The tray of sweets consisted of fruit cake, cream filled swans, Victorian cream cake, and orange chocolate Madelines.

Though the event started at 2 pm... the sandwiches by the time we sat down at 2:05 pm .. had been devoured by the other attendees at our table - so I have no photo - but I understand it was a selection of Tomato cucumber, ham and onion confit, tuna scallion, smoked turkey and cranberry, egg and watercress.

Warm English honey crumpets and homemade plain and cranberry scones with thick Devonshire cream and strawberry jam.

Ashleigh was the successful bidder on a dress worn by the character Phyllis on Y&R and had the opportunity to have her photo taken with Marco.

Kate's bracelet was stunning!!!

Thank you for stopping by for tea today ...
