Planning a Special Tea Party



With the swirling wind, freezing rain and just plain ugly cold outside ~ 
Inside with a cup of hot tea is the perfect place to be.
Surrounded by books on tea ... and tea parties!!


Tea is extraordinary ... in how it brings people together.
I'm planning a very special tea, and can't wait to share more with you in future posts.


Some fresh fruit , Almond Roca - butter crunch toffee with chocolate and almonds...


These market tulips are perfect for a touch of spring on such a gloomy day.

No tiny teacup today, instead a solid Lenox  (a gift from my dear friend Nan)  "tea"mug is perfect to hold Original Chai by Pukka. A blend of organic black tea gently spiced with cinnamon, cardamom and ginger.
This pillow sits on our sofa and is one of my favourites. 
Looking at it's inscription and thinking of all the blessings we have in our friendships and family (as they can be friends too!) always warms my soul.

    I saw the pictures of the tulips and it brought a little color to my gloomy, dreary day. And the pillow is the perfect invitation for all your friends to gather.

    Oh, you created the perfect surroundings for sipping a lovely cup of tea... Our Indian friend Jyoti makes delicious Chai tea and she does make her own blend, with some milk and I go to heaven... Stay warm and enjoy these dreamy moments! And the quote on the pillow is so true by Ralph Waldo Emerson: The Ornament of A House Is The Friends Who Frequent It...

    Oh, so much beauty going on in here... Your pretty Lenox tea mugs, books, pillow, and I adore your market tulips. I'm looking forward to seeing my tulips bloom in the Spring. Unfortunately, time didn't allow me to plant new ones last fall but the bright pink are still my favourite.
    Stay warm during the strong windows. We're having 70+ plus temps the past couple of days with t-storms today. I assumed tornadic activity and my meteorolgy instructor said 'absolutely'. Yikes!

    Isn't that the truth! It's been so awful out...makes you want to hide away and sleep. And I am so with you on your comment re: getting away down south for a few days. I won't be seeing any sun till early April soonest though. Sigh.

    I'm feeling all cozy now ... that's what I think of when I think of tea, it never fails to be comforting and cozy, I love coffee too and drink it everyday but often a coffee is picked up and in the car while I'm on the go ... tea is more about ritual, I think, about taking the time to enjoy the finer things in life.
