One of the many perks of living in a world class city such as Toronto, is the many cultural events one has the opportunity to attend. As a ROM Currelly Society member I had the honour of attending the Chairs' Reception - an event Celebrating Philanthropy and the wonderful people who make the ROM possible - through their generosity both monetary and giving of their time.

It was a very well attended event!

Visiting a museum is like walking in history, beyond the educational and cultural it can also be a fun community to be part of. The ROM has various galleries to explore grouped within: Natural History; World-Cultures; Hands-on; along with changing exhibitions; and social activities and outings such as - ROM Walks - ROM Friday Night Live -Baby & Me. Nurturing your mind is a form of self care; museums provide a restorative environment for relaxing and unwinding - so why not schedule some "Me Time" and take yourself on a date to the museum.

Always wonderful to connect with these ladies at ROM events ...
For my fashion readers ... a look at what I wore ...
Writing and blogging from High Heeled HQ (aka home office) offers few opportunities to wear more than smart casual on the daily - so I am always thrilled to have an occasion to pull out one of my little black dresses!!
One of the ways I'm nurturing my inner child this year - is by giving myself permission to be a little silly now and then ... and with my friend Lisa behind the camera encouraging it - well ... photos below say it all!!

Great post! I love reading about other women's' adventures. My next post is about A museum too.
ReplyDeleteIt really is a great post! I used to love visiting museums for some enlightening me time, but then kids came and that part of my life has been put on hold for a while (unless it is a kids' museum)! But I loved reading your post as it made a bit nostalgic for the "me" time that has become a thing of the past! Soon, though, both kids will be in school and I will be able to reclaim parts of myself! BTW, you look lovely in that wonderful black dress. And the heels are fabulous, too.

I love museums but realized I haven't been to one in over a year. Need to change that! Also, love your dress, especially the sleeves! So fun!

The last museum we went to was the Titanic one in Branson, MO. It was amazing, set in the shape of the ship, with rooms that were icy, rooms that represented other areas. I think we need to go do that again! By the way, you look MARVELOUS, dalink!
ReplyDeleteThis looks like such a fun event! I love your dress on you, those sleeves are so fun!
ReplyDeleteDearest Celia,
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing you in this elegant black dress with beautiful pumps. Also the long necklace proves of your always very clever choices as it does both lengthen and slim the silhouette. I'm very proud of your new you!
Today it rains here cats and dogs and we would very much like to step inside the ROM again... but not possible from where we are now.
Sending you hugs,
Mariette
You look lovely!! Thanks for linking up this week!
