The week on Resilientista Musings No. 4

This week over at Resilientista.com we tackled decluttering relationships - identifying people in your life who may be toxic to you. And discussed the importance of morning and evening routines, and shared tips for conscious planning to include self care.

Making Space for the Life You Want  4 Week Challenge
Week 3 - Decluttering Relationships

While it's always important to surround yourself with positive, supportive, uplifting people, this becomes an extremely important survival mechanism when you are facing difficult times in your life.

Relationships come in various forms, some are with people who live in the same home as you; share the same blood or are the extended family you create for yourself; others live in the same city/country and others miles away. Some of these people have been in your life for as long as you can remember and others may have recently come into it. Most lift you up when you spend time together, while others drain you mentally, physically, emotionally, energetically. Just like "stuff" can keep you trapped from moving forward and living the life you want - so can people.

Morning and Evening Routines - How Conscious Planning can help you with
Self Care & Living the Life you want

When life throws us a curve ball getting out the door in the morning and getting to sleep at night can become a blur, a source of chaos, frustration and anxiety.  While you may not consciously plan your morning or evening  - in one way or another you already have a routine. In the morning you wake up, shower, grab a coffee/ breakfast, get dressed and head out the door to start your day. At the end of the day you return home, have dinner, do laundry, watch television, check social media, maybe exercise before going to sleep. Essentially morning routines are what you do from the time you wake up to when you start your day; while evening routines are the things you do when you get home before going to sleep.

MAKING SPACE FOR THE LIFE YOU WANT 4 WEEK CHALLENGE - WEEK 2 - EMOTIONAL DECLUTTERING

Whether we admit it (to others and/or our self) we all have emotional clutter and the longer we hold on to it the more difficult it is to move forward and live the life we want. What emotional clutter is tucked away in the closets, drawers, cupboards of your mind? What feelings have you been hiding in these inner storage spaces, denying they exist or putting off dealing with until you "have more time"? If not dealt with, just like physical clutter, the hurts of the past will pile up overwhelming us, and morph into their own messy, ugly, suffocating (emotional) clutter.

What creates emotional clutter?

-
Past experiences that resulted in negative emotions
- Beliefs that you may have been raised with, but no longer apply to who you are today
- Inability to set boundaries both for yourself and when it comes to how others treat you ... continue reading click here

The week on Resilientista Musings No. 2

In my post Make Space For the Life You Want - by Decluttering & Simplifying the Life You Have I wrote about how clutter is more than the stuff that fills your home, it's really anything that affects you physically and emotionally - stopping you from living the life you want. How many times have you said to your self "If only I lived in a bigger house/condo; had a bigger closet, bathroom (fill in the blank) - I would be able to get myself organized"? The truth is it's not that you necessarily need more space it's that you need to take a look at all the stuff that you no longer use but is taking up valuable real estate in your home and clear it out! Clutter creates stagnant energy, which blocks you from bring what you truly desire into your life. read more here

5 SIMPLE WAYS TO KEEP WARM AT BEDTIME WITHOUT TURNING UP THE HEAT ...

Gathering with Family and Friends: With today's busy schedules time to gather with family and friends is slowly becoming more of a challenge.
