Club Monaco Launches Farmers' Market on Mink Mile

Club Monaco on Bloor Street is changing the way you may think of a farmers' market. It has brought together local favourites: Parts & Labour which is offering a white fish and quinoa salad, Boxcar Social artisan coffees, Bake Shoppe homemade sweet treats, Philips Ice Pops gourmet fresh fruit and herb ice pops, and floral bouquets from Sweet Woodruff - to create an upscale farmers' market in the city at the corner of Bloor Street and Avenue Road.

There is limited seating, but if you manage to score a chair - it's a great spot to stop and rest your feet from all the walking and shopping along Mink Mile, enjoy a little coffee break and of course people watch. I picked up an ivy plant to bring a little fresh greenery into my kitchen.

The market will be open until mid-October, and you can enjoy it seven days a week, weather permitting. To learn more or to double check rain dates follow @ClubMonaco on Twitter and use #CMMarket .

NOTE: This post was meant to have posted in early September ... but with the blog and website overhaul it fell through the seams. Though most of the vendors are no longer there .. I noticed as I drove by today (Oct. 5) that the cafe part is still set up. So if you get a chance pop by and enjoy the last of the outdoor patio and greenery display;or pick up a hot beverage to go and keep your hands warm while you shop.

Did you stop to smell the flowers? - Don't miss the Kaleidoscope of Autumn

The weather has really changed in Toronto, temps have started to hit single digits on a regular basis. I came across these photos from late summer/early autumn when the days were warm. Short sleeves have  since been replaced with sweaters and jackets.

In today's world of being constantly connected it is important to stop and smell the flowers. No matter where you live there is always a little green space somewhere in the city. And I did just that on this particular Sunday afternoon, these beauties are part of  Village of Yorkville Park - which is a series of unique gardens located on the south side of Cumberland Street stretching west from Bellair Street reflecting the diversity of the Canadian landscape.

Mother Nature's fragrant summer blossoms may be hard to find this time of year but the kaleidoscope of colours that she gifts us during autumn is a sight to behold. So, make sure on your walks and drives that you take a moment to pause and take in the one of a kind art display only Mother Nature can create, before you look up and realize the show is over.

What I wore: sneakers- Chuck Taylor Converse; khakis - Gap; belt - Hermès; blouse - Max Studio; black cross necklace - market find (old); white watch - Lucien Piccard; bracelet - The Essence Collection Pandora; sunglasses - Gucci; tote - Louis Vuitton

5 Simple Self Care Tips
 for Transitioning into Autumn

Time to reflect, set intentions
Have you reviewed your goals and wishes for this year? (most people don’t after setting them). Take this transitional season to reflect on your life, review your goals (update if needed) and set new goals. Ask yourself How is life working for me at the moment? What changes may be needed? What do I want to create next?  Am I making myself a priority in my life? Set aside 30 – 60 minutes to reflect on your life as it is now –  then select a few simple action steps you can start taking towards achieving your goals and creating the life you want to be living. read more here

Have You Laughed Today?

When life's "stuff" happens - divorce, car accident, loss of a loved one, illness, career downsizing, etc. - it can leave us frustrated, overwhelmed and stressed - depleting our ability to find joy in everyday life and laugh. But , laughter just may be what you need to stay healthy and improve your ability to cope during challenging times. read more here
